    • I think the Broncos will wait and see what they can get in the draft first. A rookie may take the other CB spot (Talib replaced DRC but we still must replace Champ Bailey).

      • Is Davin Joseph worth kicking the tires on?

We need a guard and he's probably looking at a short term prove it deal. He was a good prospect at one time that has battled injuries and didn't grade out very well last year. Thoughts?

If he panned out we would have Clady, Joseph, Ramirez, Vasquez and Franklin along the front.

          • 30 year old former first round pick, two-time pro-bowler and eight year vet who has played RG in the NFL.

It depends on how much he wants and how much Elway & Co. have left to spend.

He was on IR in 2012, but started all sixteen games in 2013.

He would need to play LG which is different than RG.

IDK about a "prove it deal". He is a proven starter who has been with the same team for eight years.

The Broncos sometimes sign one-year deals with veteran players like they did with Shaun Phillips and Stewart Bradley. I guess it's "prove it" in the sense of can they still play, and play well enough to start?

Phillips got $1 million last year. IDK what Joseph would be worth on the current OL FA market.

            • I can't imagine that he would want or get a lot right now. I really have no idea how hard the transition from right guard to left guard would be, but I can't imagine a better alternative right now, unless we draft a guy like Cyril Richardson, or someone that could step right in.

My other thought was Brian Waters. He had a good year last year despite his age. I wonder if he would like going up against the Chiefs twice a year for another year or two. He seems to still be playing at a pretty high level if he wants to keep playing.

Wow! Brian Waters. An UDFA who has played fifteen years in the NFL and has been to six pro bowls. He just turned 37. I think he wants to live in Texas. What a guy!

                • Definitely worth kicking the tyres on. It wasn't too long ago he was considered an elite guard. Whether or not he'd pan out on the left side of the line is another story, though.
