I've watched every OSU game Roby has played and I didn't want him to come to denver. He is talented but doesn't always play hard and gets down on himself. Gives up on a lot of plays and seemed to get dinged up often. I love the Buckeyes but nobody on their coaching staff seemed to be able to light a fire under this kid. If he puts in the work he could be great, but he didn't do that at OSU.Leave a comment:

His issues arent that he doesnt have the measurable arm length like Gayle but rather the production. Personally I thought held be drafted higher then he has been. He was on my short list.
Personally if all we were looking at was wingspan ild take Jayrone Elliot over Sam a bit lengthier and has a better fist step. Hes going to be UDFALeave a comment:

Take out anything about him being a distraction, because I could care less about the politics. The only thing Sam has to offer Gayle does not is his length, which other players do have better then Sam. I must admit Gayle doesnt have the ideal wingspan of a pass rusher but its not that bad of a wing span.Leave a comment:

He was also the top defender in the SEC, wouldn't mind drafting him and letting him compete.Leave a comment:

For depth purposes Ild rather have insurance because both are still healing from injury, and it would be nice to be able to rotate a player or 2 in like Seattle. Gayle is still on the board thoughLeave a comment:

How often are von and/or ware coming off the field? Any pass rusher we draft is going to be fighting for table scraps with Smith, McCray, and Youboty.Leave a comment:

Yeah agree with the we are set on the DL and we do have Von and Ware on the outside. If there is any need in the front 7 then it's ILB.
Accompany that with maybe Elway and CO aren't too impressed with what's currently left at this point of the draft. Might see a pass rusher in the 6th or 7th, or bring one in as a UDFA.Leave a comment:

It's not just that Denver is satisfied with what they have, but also may be unhappy with the pass rushers available when they've had picks.
Oh, and Q. Smith is coming back. We haven't even gotten to see him yet.Leave a comment:

I disagree: I don't think there was a receiver in college more physical than Latimer. Elway just spoke on NFLN about how, on tape, Latimer was BY FAR the best blocking wide receiver, in addition to his physical talents as a pass catcher.
Receivers who can block are mega rare in the NFL. This is a swiss army knife type selection for the offense, and a guy who will be happy to fill whatever role he's given.Leave a comment:

Not really many scouts feel hes better inside because he doesnt have the fluidity to be a weakside LB. He was on my list of MLB's and the top of my list of steals at the position though I had Bradford above, hes actually a good player but LSU isnt known for developing good LB's and hes more athletic then skilled.
The best speed and length of anyone in this draft hes not a bad target but hes got some developing to do and isnt the most fluid of players. Though he can drop back and has experience doing so, not the best instincts but hes a blazing talentLeave a comment:

This was his description from Fox Sports upon being drafted. "Very athletic linebacker who earned All-SEC honors in his senior year. Does well in coverage and isn't afraid to lay down vicious hits. Maybe needs to gain a little weight".Leave a comment:
