Didn't barrow have a 2nd round grade on him? Or am I thinking of someone else

Yep, we need a coverage, rangy LB who can run sideline to sideline.

      This guy fits that.

He was also a Team Captain at LSU.

I'm not a big fan of Irving's cover skills, and I believe that the lack thereof is a major reason why he hasn't grabbed the starting job.
Maxed out frame makes that unlikely. He plays though as if he has 10 or 20 lbs more. He measures up quite nicely to Mosely as it was mentioned but slightly better speed slightly better fluidity and slightly better range.

Hes a leader in the backfield which is nice I liked Bradford more then him because of his body type and hes a bit harder of a hitter but Barrow is a missile.

Nope that was Bradford and Borland in some cases (though he dropped ) Barrow has always been a 5th rounder hes a late bloomer but his athleticism has always made him a standout he just needs to improve his instincts.

Barrow is already at 237, you don't want him to add '10-20lbs'...the days of the 250lb thumpers are over. Barrow is another pick made for his 'versatility', as he can play all three LB positions. To me, he takes Brandon Marshall's spot as the backup for Trevathan initially, but I am sure he will get looked at everywhere.

Joe Mays started over Irving... So forgive me if I don't put much into you thinking that this kid doesn't have a chance at starting this year. Irving is far from a lock at starter...

I agree I was responding to the idea that we need him to increase his weight to be a thumper. Hes versatile which is what we want. IMO if we drafted Bradford I would have had him lose the extra weight hes good with it but more explosive without it.

I was responding to the belief Irving would be are run stopper between the 2 which is incorrect Barrow is a better run stopper hes got better length speed and is better at getting off blocks then Irving. Irving is better at dropping back because he has more fluidity

4.59 speed is nice to have on your side I must admit.

In 19 games against ranked opponents he put up
                        36 solo tackles
                        7.5 TFL
                        2 PBU
                        1 QBH

Not bad for a 5th rounder hes rough around the edges but he shows a lot of promise against tough opponents.

Reminiscent of Trevathan and Woodyard. Probably intended to be "the other linebacker" in nickel sets. Not bad as a MLB, but with Johnson and Irving, I don't think we needed a new "MLB."

Your right who cares if hes quicker then both of them and is a more versatile LB, who cares if Irving cant get off blockers to save his life to be effective in the run game thanks to his lack of leg power, or if Steven Johns thanks to his lack of quickness and length isnt that effective in the passing game and has had 1 play in 2 years worth talking about and it was on ST. We are fine at MLB

Not sure what to think and I know nothing about him. He seems a little under-sized to me. Going into the draft I was hopeful for Mosely, but instead, we got this-- better than nothing I suppose.

I feel exactly like Eric Cartman when his mom would only get him a Samsung instead of an iPad.

Undersized 6'1 same size as our current MLB's on our roster and the same size as the average MLB with 33 3/8 in arms and 10 3/8 in hands both about 1 in longer then the average size for both, with the arm length the same as Mosley.

His vertical and range are higher then Mosleys, in fact he is said to have the farthest tackling range of any ILB prospect in this draft because of his leaping ability not to mention his speed
