  • Matt Paradis Really??

As far as I could tell he was off of every draft board out there and had no chance of being drafted. This was a major reach and a waste of a pick. Can anyone explain why we got this guy when we could Harrison who is better in every aspect is still on the board and also wont likely be drafted

I actually like this pick. He has ideal size at 6'3"-306 and came in to visit with the team and from all reports did a great job working with our O-line coaches. I think he probably sits on the PS for a year, but could start down the road, you never know....Tom Nalen was a sixth rounder, I believe

Dont get me wrong the guy has amazing foot work for close range but has trouble getting up field and has shorter then ideal arms. Gabe Ikard is still on the board and he is better then him in almost every manner except endurance which we could improve.

Nothing about this kid shows he wouldnt have been available as an UDFA

Just curious which other 6th Rdr would you like us to pick and expect him to come in and make the team for it to not be a waste?
        So far:
        FA- Melvin Gordon. Brandon Scherff
        1. Kenneth Murray LB; 2. Shenault WR; 2B. Biadazz Center, 3. OT

Yeah, IDK, I am trying to be positive since I have been disappointed overall in this draft. Not sure the team got much better.

There are plenty of 6th rounders available that could have made the team I named several C's who have a better shot. There are several pass rushers we could have gotten or even a RB

Gabe Ikard C (was still available)
James Gayle OLB/DE (was still available) as was Jeffcoat
David Fluellen RB (was still available)
Bene Benwikere CB/FS (was still available)
Colt Lyerla a combo TE (was still available)
Ryan Groy G (was still available)
Marquis Flowers WLB (was still available)

Plenty of players that we could have drafted that had a better chance of making the team including Jonotthan Harrison or James Stone who I think have a better chance of making the team as C's

One thing he definitely won't do? Snap the ball before Peyton tells him to.

No he wont "snap the ball" so probably not lol. ManRam had issues hearing so I can kind of give the excuse but that wasnt the first time he botched a snap just the worst one hes had of the 20 or so he seemed to have.

He sure in hell didn't have 20 botched snaps, I don't think he had 10.

And how do you know Paradis was taken off all of those teams' boards definitively? How do you figure he isn't that good? Have you watched hours of film like our scouts have?

20 was a hyperbole though if you watched games he had multiple every game where Manning had to stretch to make the grab.

As for Paradis I have seen some film on the guy and relied on actual scouts evaluation of him and expert opinion and none have been high enough on this guy to make him a 7th rounder at the highest let alone a 6th and the rumor mill around him from what I read had him not on other teams draft boards (though a few had him listed as a someone to potentially pick up in FA). The highest draft pick ive seen was a scout called him a high priority FA. Hes a hard worker and great teammate and is one of those guys you try hard to keep according to this scout but thats still not a 6th rounder.

                      20?

                      Link to all of them.

                      He had maybe under 5.

In one game I went to was the Raider game in that game alone he had 5 that were low snaps alone and 1 that nearly got away from Manning completely. It was a hyperbole the guy has had some bad snaps all year and not all of Mannings career worst 10 fumbles in the regular season were because of bad snaps but a good portion of them were.

Can you link me to this, please? I wouldn't mind taking a look at other teams' draft boards.

Centers defy conventional scouting perhaps more than any other position. There have been dozens over the years that were late round picks and had great success, including Tom Nalen.

I trust this pick a little more because Paradis is the only player to my knowledge that came in for a visit that we actually followed through and drafted. Fox made the comment that the O-line coaches were extremely impressed with him. He has prototypical size for a center, and Boise St players have a decent track record in the NFL. I would not be surprised if someday he becomes our starting OC, and has a chance to understudy to a perfect mentor in Will Montgomery.

Its more of what you get from looking at insider reports from all other teams, and none of the insider reports ive seen had him listed as potentially except on GB's but they took Linsley.
