Lamar Miller
I think we should look at him during FA. He has been in a terrible running system the past 4 years. I believe he would be a great fit for Kubiak's Zone Run Offense. He really reminded me of a poor mans Clinton Portis coming out of The U. I think he would be an upgrade over Hillman, who might think he is worth more than he is actually worth. Just a thought...I know we have a lot of pending FA to resign...Miller, Wolfe, Jackson, Marshall. Just a thought though.New England Patriots GM

Lamar Miller was more of a speed back in college, though in the last few years hes gradually added more weight and now runs with more power which started last year and has been working on making cuts. However, he is still more typically a speed rusher and lacks a physical running game many other backs do and we need.
Speed backs are not as good of a fit for the zone as a power back or a cut back, the prior usually being the better of the 2. The scheme doesn't allow as many outside runs by design and right now we do not have a lead blocker that seals the edge or helps them break free (which is needed more with a speed back).
If he takes a good team deal I wouldn't mind it but I doubt it, he is on the right track to be successful and this year has shown it but he still has games where he reverts back to his old ways

Why AJ Mccarran could be the best option for 2016
Lets start why Brock may not be the best option...
1. Brock in many ways is still not completely proven. Arrow is pointing up, but it will take a 12M or more guaranteed commitment to find out.
2. Regardless of media answers, I am sure Brock being replaced as starter did not help as far as negotiations are concerned, and we know there will always be that team that over pays.
3. I also have to question how committed Elway is to Brock, maybe it's just we have seen him endorse a guy before,"Tim Tebow's not going anywhere..."
So why Mccarron, who at a minimum will cost a 2nd round pick, maybe more? Economics. Where Brock would cost 6-8M in cap space in 2016 and 12-14M in 2017 (estimating here), McCarron would average about $650K over two years. In a year where we have 4 important FAs on the defensive side of the ball and a big need to get talent on the OL, 18-22M in cap room over the next two years could be pretty substantial.
That money could go beyond re-signing Von, Wolfe, MJ, and Trev; we could also take advantage of a low cost QB by extending Marshall and Williams. Truly keeping this defense in place for another 3 years.
How does McCarron compare to Brock? From the games I have seen him play, he is smooth in his drops, shows good awareness, and throws with confidence.
So if Cinn is willing to take a 2nd and a conditional 3rd in 2017, what would you do?Ravens GM 2016 - Ravens are looking to trade down 4-8 spots

His value depends on how he plays this week, if he plays well and they win, it could cost a first round pick. If he plays well and they lose, maybe a 2nd this year and a conditional 2017 pick. If he plays poorly, it's probably a conditional (anywhere from 1st to 5th depending on milestones reached) in 2017.
