Agreed, the Chargers tried to deal Rivers before they got him to an extension. What they wanted was something close to the #2 pick for Mariota.

Rivers has been having back and ribs problems and had even threatened to retire, and there seems to be tension over the move with LA, but reports have differed on what side Rivers is on.

I am pretty sure that Rivers is likely wanting to keep his family in the SD area. HE has a pretty large family and I am sure his kids and wife all have friends and schools etc. So he is likely looking ta this all from a family stand-point. He has made millions from his football career so he is and will not be cash-strapped. So I am sure his focus is on his family - which he has mentioned in several interviews.

That is what I thought I read but did it not say that is what he did last year?? - so he is officially not entering the '16 draft?

According to reports no, he wants to stay and win a championship and hopes to improve his standing for next years draft
