  • Michael Floyd Released by Arizona

    After a DUI charge.

I doubt we would want to bring him in this season, but this offseason he'd be an interesting player to look at given we can't seem to find someone to be a consistent 3rd option at receiver. Certainly his market value will be very low coming off this incident so it could be a low-risk move after some due diligence. Also not sure if he's in line for a suspension from personal conduct policy. I think he had some incidents in college with alcohol but I can't remember him having anything else at the pro level.

No thanks. He hasn't done anything of note. Even last season when Arizona was a high flying offense he wasn't a big part. I'll pass. There has to be better options......like Sunshine!

No thanks we are loaded at receiver plus not really excited about getting a player that just got in trouble for being stupid.

If by loaded you mean we have a lot of wide outs, then that's true. But the talent and production drop off after DT and Sanders is basically so bad, we might as well only have 2 receivers on the roster.

As for Michael, wouldn't touch him but wouldn't be mad if we did cut one of the bums we have at wide out for him.

He would immediately be our 2nd best (Emmanuel Sanders, 1st) wide receiver. Hell yeah. Sign the guy the second you can.

Add a 1st-round talent as the #3 WR, keep his rights until March and get a compensatory pick in 2018?

                Nah...

We already have Latimer and Norwood. Studs.

Aren't the patriots 2 picks ahead of us in terms of "waived" players? Smart move by a smart organization. Especially with their HUGE problems at the position. When I think about a couple of dropped passes by Fowler, and the "no-show" Cody Latimer, this would have been quite the coup. Sure wish he had fallen to us.

How can you say 1st round talent? He has done just about as much as Latimer. He has been useless.

Michael Floyd has 3,709 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns.

Cody Latimer has 130 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

At this rate, Latimer will need only 28,5 seasons to reach Floyd's current receiving yards.

But yea, they're close. They've done just about the same.

Floyd has been a big disappointment in Arizona. His numbers are helped by playing in a pass heavy offense with Palmer but he is always near the top of the league in drops and this year was meant to be a breakout for him and he went missing.

I wouldn't waste my time picking him up, especially this late in the season, and it seems other teams felt the same as the Pats have the #31 waiver claim.

Regarding the pats in general it makes me laugh how they are always made out to be a genius organisation. Their draft classes the last 5 years have been below average and they have not done a great job in FA or retaining their better players.

TB12 masks a lot of mistakes in that organisation.

They won't get a comp pick for him. If he lasts there the entire rest of the season (a big if) he's going to sign a 1 year low level contract next year. Not a contract that will make a difference when it comes to comp picks.

No, the Pats have the second best record int he league, they had 31st priority on the waiver wire. So 29 teams passed on him.

What has he done this year? Nothing. Dude has been booty and I could care less the Pats sign him.
