Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

He hasn't been very good no matter where he has played. I am unsure why people think that will change very much if they move him somewhere else. He is 28 now and only plays about 50% of the snaps. He is a marginal Dline player no matter how you look at it, imo.
He's never played 3 technique in a 1 gap defense. He was a 3 tech in a two gap and a 1 tech in a one gap. I'm not saying he's a guy you base your defense around, but in a rotation (like he was in 2015) he can be a serviceable player, and he's not gonna cost a fortune.
Much like you and your belief in Fitzpatrick being a serviceable QB (and my belief that RGIII would be better in his second stop) we can have differing opinions.
He's a young-ish DL with experience that probably isn't going to command a big salary. I don't want to see him thrown to the side unless we have so many better players that he doesn't fit on the roster.

Agreed. His inability to play multiple techniques is just that. An inability. That won't change. He is at best a solid role player. Resign walker, develop Gotsis and sign a top 3 penetrator. Resign both okung and Williams to mid level $4-5 mill contracts while targeting any top flight RT and G. This allows us to go hard after a top flight ILB, TE, or RB in the 1st. and still leaves us in decent cap shape. Byou doing this we don't have to worry about the extended development time needed for DL or T.

That much, I agree with. I just don't understand why people keep expecting things from him when he has never shown it. People say he is best as a penetrator. Why? he has never shown much ability at that which is why he was benched in favor of Malik in 2014. It's been 4 years now for Sly. If he hasn't stepped up by now, he never is. He is what he is.....a decent rotational player. IMO, that position needs some serious upgrading and is the weakest position on the defense.
I can't believe how badly Fitz crashed this year. I never thought he was great but geez....he was horrible this season. Neither one of us right about those 2 QBs.....
My draft crush this year is Auburn DT Montravius Adams. I wanted Chris Jones last year, but when I watched Montravius Adams' tape against Alabama, I fell in love. If we could get him at #20, I would be ecstatic. He has the quickness, motor, and strength that Sly does not. Adams would be a freak in the middle of our defensive line.
Not worth it. We can spend our money more wisely. I would rather rotate Peko with a rookie on dirt contracts than pay him 5 mil a year.
See now thats the argument I can understand I think hes been fairly competent given that 1 tech is not the easiest position to learn. However, is he worth as much as he might actually command thats another issue all together. Montravius Adams is someone I was thinking of getting
Williams was doubled more this year but it was not because of his ability, but because Crick was useless and Wolfe was out more. Honestly, the job of the 1 tech is to free up other players and he did that, but often that didnt mean much.

To be honest, I'm still pretty upset we waived Darius Kilgo. I understand we needed a LS at the time, but I thought he was a good project to keep around.....and look at him now, on the Patriots.
