If we fill our starting G and RT needs through free agency and JFE sticks to his bpa mantra while focusing on defense AND with Talib situation going into next off-season (ie his cap hit is more friendly, his off field issues and his age) AND considering the depth of legit 1st round talent at corner this year....can you see him targeting CB if the situation arose. He had shown 3 top flight corners are devastating to opposing offenses and work in conjunction with pass rush....I can honestly see this happening if free agency falls right

We'd need to address LT, RT & 1 Guard.in FA/internal promotions. We are also potentially in need of a Center depending on how Paradis is post-surgery.
On the defensive side of the ball we need 1-2 DE's to mix into our rotation and one of those needs to be able to start or come close to it. We also need to find a NT & maybe a MLB (instinctual not necessarily a cover guy)
Oh and even if we address ALL of that we'd still need one of the top CB's to fall to us in the draft....

I dont feel this is that far fetched at all.
You can never have to many good corners and Roby is gonna be a FA soon, maybe he chases big bucks, it would be good to start developing a guy bow rather than scramble later.
Depth, you can never had to much depth at corner, it's not a position you can hide and get away with below average play like 1 interior DL or 1 MLB in a 3-4. There were times last year when Talib was out where we were one play away from starting what broadly would be your #4 guy.
Elway has said he wants play makers.. and #20 is right around adoree jackson territory...

Yeah, he offers game changing return ability but there's plenty of corners I would take over him.

I think I stated in another thread that, even though his size isn't what Dominique Rogers Cromartie's is, his potential is about the same I would say. He reminds me a lot of him coming out. Deep speed, great recovery speed, athletic phenom, just VERY raw. He played Offensive, Special Teams and Defense. IF he was there with out 2nd I would take him above Watkins all day long.
Yikes....I was there until Watkins. Watkins floor is so much higher than his. Also as raw as he is, this wold be a 3-4 project. At a position where we will need a Nickel in the next year.I need more Oline, please and thank you

Does anyone on here really believe Chris Harris Jr and Talib are some sort of next level technicians with their tech. and footwork?
How often do you see Talib just standing straight up pre snap, and turning and running right away, then making a break on a ball because he used his eyes well.???
How often is Chris Harris Jr sitting square in his back pedal going through the progression of the QB's drop??
Look, I love our CBs!!!!! What we ask them to do would fit in the wheel house of Adoree Jackson's skill set.

Would love to add Jackson. Big USC fan and saw him play every game. Doubt he is on the board by #51 but if he is the Broncos need to run to the podium. Depending on what happens in free agency and who is on the board draft day I would not be disappointed at all if the Broncos stretched a bit and took him at #20.
Young man is a playmaker. Compared to Pacman Jones. Certainly needs to focus on his technique and discipline on routes. . He relies on his athleticism. But is that a bad starting point? At this point a solid man on man CB, willing and able tackler. As mentioned, he may not be a a trusted day one starter but give him a year to develop. Could certainly be used in nickle and dime packages though.
Then you get to his return ability. Premier talent. Speed, elusiveness and great instincts with the ball in his hands. Broncos would benefit from squeezing out some of those return yards that a elite returner can give the offense.
To the original point. Absolutely can see CB taken with #20 if that is the BPA. Despite my enthusiasm, not necessarily Jackson either. Some talented CBs in this draft. Taking one early would not surprise me. Feeding the CB pipeline is never a bad thing.Last edited by FR Tim; 02-24-2017, 06:52 AM.

Not expecting Talib to be out this year with the season he just had. But any decline this coming season could force the situation. Also need to add his back issues and his antics causing him to lose games to suspension into the equation.
I have no issue with a CB being selected in the first three rounds. Talib is not untouchable or impervious to Father Time.
