Citing "several people within the sport," the Washington Post reports there is "growing sentiment" Tony Romo could land with the Texans.

Despite rumors Romo could land in D.C. the Post's Mike Jones tweeted Friday that the Skins flatly "don't want" him. The Texans could and should be different with Brock Osweiler and Tom Savage currently atop the depth chart, and a roster that may be one quarterback away from Super Bowl contention. Per the Post's Mark Maske, "Several agents and coaches and executives with other NFL teams said in recent days at the NFL Scouting Combine that they regard the Texans as the most likely destination for Romo." Added one high-ranking NFL official, "I don't think anyone in the league would be surprised to see that one happen." In Houston, Romo could stay in Texas and play beneath the Texans' retractable roof. Romo landing there would be outstanding news for the fantasy outlooks of DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller, Lamar Miller, and C.J. Fiedorowicz.

To me, this all sounds like a desperate attempt from either DAL (to foster some pressure hoping for a trade before the March 9th deadline) or from TR's agent hoping for more money commitment front Elway.
I'm not sure it's the agent, unless Dallas gave Romo permission to talk to Denver than they'd be tampering until he's released. According to one of the Dallas beat writers (I forget his name) this is an attempt by Dallas to try and get either Denver or Houston to trade for him, I don't think anyone is trading for that contract.

The CBA before this recent one they put in a provision so that you could release a player in March and designate them as a post June 1st cut. This way the player gets to the market earlier and I assume the team gets the savings sooner. Romo will be cut this upcoming week but likely designated a post June 1st cut.
      Makes sense! Thanks for clarifying

Yea I knew they could designate him post June 1, that's why I am wondering what's he hold up.

No one is trading for him. Dal will use the savings the fix the D, and I think that means Ware goes back to Dal

I think they're just waiting until the last possible moment to see if they can get any value from him. They're under the cap now, so they don't have to release him to get there. I think they'll do it either right before free agency starts or shortly after when they need the money to sign someone.

Jerry Jones just came out and said there was no truth to the 3 way trade rumours. Also said the Cowboys might keep Romo, although I don't think anyone actually believes that.

The Cowboys believe they have an "unspoken understanding" with Tony Romo that he won't sign with the division-rival Redskins when/if Romo is released.
"It is implied that we will work in the best way we can for the mutual interest of Tony and the Cowboys. That was just implied," said owner Jerry Jones at the Combine. Jones also confirmed NFL Network's rumor of a three-way trade sending Tony Romo to Washington is "not factual in any way." The Washington Post reported Friday the Redskins don't have any interest in Romo, anyway.

I also believe, if JJ grants TR his release, it occurs with the understanding he won't sign with HOU.

JJ doesn't even want HOU games aired in DAL, so I have to believe he wouldn't want Romo heading south and taking HOU to SB 52.

God I love the silly season. Who really gave this a shred of legitimacy
I need more Oline, please and thank you

Eh, Houston is alot closer to his home than Denver is. And he wouldnt have to move his family for a 1-2 year stay if we were to get him.

I agree theres no way he signs in Washington.
