if Romo were signed i'd imagine it would be an incentive-laden deal.

Where more time he starts, more money he gets and he has a lower cap number this year where we can still add some people.

It would be win/win, Romo stays healthy he gets more money, he gets hurt, no harm done.

i'd guess he gets cut before FA, Dallas can June-1 him on Thursday and it would give Dallas some cap room to use in free agency.

So, with these RFA tenders and the draft, we can subtract $11 million from this cap space. The Broncos also extended exclusive-FA tenders to 10 "free" agents (who are not really free).

Signing Romo to a $10-12 million salary removes the possibility of signing a high-level o-lineman or d-lineman. Is Romo worth it? It depends on his ability to stay healthy (questionable) and I'd say it also depends on what kind of jump Sieman can make in year three. What if Siemian is ready to throw for 4,000+ yards and 25+ touchdowns with a $615,000 salary? However, Siemian himself has not been able to stay healthy.

Also, more important than cap space, there is the cash available to give those signing bonuses that reduce the cap hit of FA deals. We don't know how much cash the Broncos have to spend.
None of the QBs have been able to stay healthy with the poor line play. Peyton, Oz, Trevor and I believe Lynch also was banged up?

Based off last years numbers, Trevor being a first year starter with poor oline and ton of key pieces being injured I think 4,000 yds and 25 TDs is well within grasp. Especially with the transition from a Kubiak offense to McCoy. Would much rather use that Romo money and put it towards and elite line man rather than a QB that will end up on IR. We should see a decent jump in Siemian considering he would be going into his second year as a starter if Romo doesn't end up here. A good offseason focused on him should pay off as well, he didn't get that last year.

On cap space, I would love to see CHJ get restructured and extended, could create 4M more in cap space. Only 27, so adding 2-3 years would be okay. His ability to excel in the slot makes it even a safer extension imo.

He is already underpaid we are lucky he doesn't hold out for a bigger deal.

Then that puts Lynch as the starter when Tony gets injured. Look at his injury history, I believe he's missed games almost every year since 09? The injuries seem to be getting worse and will continue to get worse as he ages. Trevor has a ton of upside, Romo has I/R, Lynch needs another year at least.
I would say the over/under for when Romo gets injured is set at 4 games.

Preaching to the choir here, my man. Couldn't agree more. With decent salary cap room, it's a good time to address a few areas, especially the OL.
