This defense is perfect for a veteran that doesn't have to be "the guy" but can play hard and contribute. The no fly zone makes it so much easier.

So true. With Wolfe and Von, taking focus off of him, I wouldnt be surprised if he could repeat a 8+ sack season. Look what this defense did for Antonio Smith. Not gaudy numbers, but he definitely was serviceable.

There is also potential he could play ST. Not sure, at his age, if we'd want him there... especially if we bring him in as a sack specialist.

I think a very heavy incentive deal would be perfect for this guy. Seems to be exactly what he wants.

          Free Agents tendered

The Broncos tendered McManus and Todd Davis at second round levels. And qualified ERFA's Paradis, Anderson, Barrett, Ferentz, Bibbs, Kreiter, Fowler and Jordan Taylor.

Good moves. Pretty sure what everyone expected. Solidifies depth in positions of need. Don't expect anyone to make an offer to McManus or Davis, so we should be set.....but I would love for someone to offer Davis something, but with the LB class, wishful thinking.

If someone offered Davis the absolute minimum I'd waive him goodbye and take the second rounder. The real surprise to me was that Bibbs is still an ERFA, it seems like he's been around this team for a decade now.

I agree though, good moves, nothing surprising. It would be nice if Taylor or Fowler could step up and become a viable third receiver.

Me, too. Maybe use the second rounder on an Inside backer.

I agree, smile and wave. We have done a good job finding solid serviceable backers in the mid rounds ..

One with better instincts and run reads than the previous guy...

This Offseason/Draft Could Get Interesting Quick

No matter what, the o-line needs to be addressed, no question there but if we get some vet QB I think that will allow us to get more offensive weapons now because I believe a vet will know how to use them. Can you imagine if Brady had Christian McCaffery? Look how he uses any big TE. Granted he's been with his team for over 10 years now. Siemian is drawing some interest and may be a nice bargaining chip to move ahead in the draft. I am thinking moving ahead in the second round to get a TE, this year had a 2 or 3 special ones. I could see three good draftees really making this offense unique.

McCaffery if available or best OT available.

                        -------------------------------------------------------------
If we didn't get a vet QB, I'd rather just build up the o-line

In either case, still draft defensive depth.

For Jimmy Garoppolo, the Patriots are asking 2 1st round picks (Granted they may not get it). I'd be satisfied if the Niners (or anyone) gave us their high 2nd Rd pick for Siemian, possibly a compensatory 3rd rd pick too if the pick is the top of the 2nd rd. If Siemian plays next and shows improvement and we are ready to move forward with Paxton the price for Siemian will no doubt be higher. There is enough tape on Siemian to make an assessment on his raw skills.

There are a lot of teams that need a QB and in spite of what people think, we actually have something of value. I'm no GM, but we may be able to make Paxton work and get another offensive/defensive weapon on draft day when teams are more willing to make deals, especially if Elway puts it out there that Siemian is available for the right price.

Just a thought. I would hate to lose Siemian, but it seems inevitable so why not now?

I keep seeing stories that the Broncos are interested in Romo if he is released, but if another vet is available it could start a whole series of possibilities given we have an extra young QB.

I still wish we would have drafted Perryman a couple drafts ago...I knew that guy was going to be a beast and a plug for stopping the run. Would love to have him and Brandon Marshall back there.

I've read the Broncos like him for his hard work and ethic. Maybe they see something in him that I certainly don't...

i still believe inside backer wasn't the issue it was the D-line and how bad williams was with out 2 plays who are near the best of there position playing next to him
