    What I would do...

And many will be glad I not calling the shots

    1. Sign QB Cousins - Do not want another developing QB
    2. Sign OG Norwell - Plugs RG with huge upgrade gets Leary back to LG
    3. Sign RB Dion Lewis - Just a big play-maker at RB
    4. Draft Bradley Chubb #5
    5. Trade Von Miller to SF for RT Trenton Brown and #10 pick
    6. Draft LB R Smith at #10
    7. Draft LB TJ Edwards at #40
    8. Trade 3rd round pick to Redskins for WR Crowder
    9. Trade 3rd round pick and DT to Buffalo for Cordy Glenn (both may be one year and done, but think both teams benefit here)
    10. Extend Paradis
    11. Extend Barrett
    12. Cap with these moves 6-10M remaining after rookie pool

Still have 2 4th, 2 5ths, 6th, and 7th and UDFA to fill out the roster.

Defense would transition to more 4-3 base

    LDE Chubb -Walker
    LDT Wolfe - Harris
    RDT Peko - Kerr
    RDE Gotsis -Ray
SLB Barrett - Marshall (til we cut him next year)
    ILB Edwards - Anderson
    WLB Smith - Open competition
Ravens GM 2016 - Ravens are looking to trade down 4-8 spots

I’m not trading Von Miller for that RT and 1 pick. No way. Maybe to CLE for 1 and 4 and Joe Thomas.

      1. sign Alex Smith or Keenum or Taylor
      2. draft either Mayfield or Allen
      3. get a RT in draft

I don’t mean to ruffle any feathers on this. Simply asking the question. But didn’t you spend the entire offseason last year making mocks that involved trading Von? Lol

You know the idea of trading von isn't all that crazy. He is at his peak right now and his value is still high. His production will start to fade in a couple years so getting max trade right now wouldn't be the worst idea. Ole Bill does this all the time, he trades guys when they are still good but on the down slide

You're never getting both Cousins and Norwell, not enough cap room and too many teams that need o-line and QB help with way more cap room than Denver.

Why would you trade Miller to draft a guy you hope turns into Miller? Why create a hole to use draft capital to fill that hole when you can just use the draft capital to fill existing holes?

I like the transition to a correct 4-3 rather than the 40 under, but would put Miller at Weakside End and aim to coach Walker up enough to play Strong side End in the base set.

That trade is not adequate value for Miller. The 10th pick and an o-lineman on an expiring contract is way way too little.

I agree, was just saying the idea really isn't that far fetched

I wish people would understand that Cousin's not leaving Washington and KC is not going to trade Smith, especially to a division rival! I agree with the man in the other post that said Elway will sign a mid-level QB and will have coaches work with Kelly and Lynch to replace the vet.
Just my idea but the more I read on line, the more I don't think Cousins will leave Washington.

It's not far fetched, but in order to get him the other team needs to make it worth Denver's while. The trade here does not come close.

That's great but Cousin's dad came out in November and said that his son wouldn't have signed any contract the Skins had offered him last summer, even if it were the highest contract in the NFL. He very well could sign his tender (if given one) this year by Washington, but that will only be to be free and clear of Washington next year. And Jay Gruden's comments about Cousins also make it appear as if Washington is looking to move on as well.

                        Redskins saying Cousins won't negotiate.

As for Smith, why would anyone trade for a QB that's going to be released? Maybe if he had more than 1 year left on his contract, but he doesn't so KC will end up releasing him when no one trade for him.

Trading Von is completely out of the question simply because his hit on the cap would catastrophic. I can’t remember the exact number but it would be somewhere in the 17-20 million draft hit next year. Enough with this silly idea. Von isn’t going anywhere.

It is going to be an interesting off season. The trades may run wild.......right now the rumors are running wild! lol I just don't look for Cousins to be a Bronco in 2018.

                              We can't really afford him.
