These are the top options in the draft:
I am continuing as if QB is not an option here.
Rosen
Allen
Darnold
Mayfield
Chubb-DE-- This is a possibility but he looks more like a 4-3 end than a 3-4 OLB to me. Pass rusher is a premium though so he is a possibility.
Barkley-RB--I don't think the Broncos value this position highly enough this season so I don't see this happening this season.
Fitzpatrick-DB--very possible candidate. Talib may be gone and he could also be an upgrade at safety. They have Roby and just drafted 2 safeties 2 years though and they have been playing pretty well.
Derwin James-DB--very good prospect but I don't see him as one of the elites in this draft.
Calvin Ridley-WR--I don't see the FO releasing DT or Sanders so a top pick here is a bit of a waste.
McGlinchey-OT-- OT is very likely but if they were to take an Olineman, I think they would go with the better player in nelson. They might value OT over OG enough to make this choice though.
Williams-OT--see above.
Roquan Smith-LB---also a very likely pick. He would probably be the best LB on the team, besides Miller but he may be best as a 4-3 OLB instead if 3-4 ILB.
Nelson-OG--He is the best Olineman in the draft which is the biggest weakness besides QB, and someone a team could build a line around. He was so good, he was voted the team MVP. How often does that happen?
so the way I see it, the 3 most likely options, besides QB, are Nelson, Fitz, and Smith..in that order. They have built a solid defense and I don't think they go defense in the first since they know, and admitted, that the offense needs a lot of work.
edit...not most likely, but what I would do. Out of the top 3 listed, most likely would be Fitz, imo.
