i hope he has learned that physical talent is good but not everything. i'd take a guy with a weaker arm who is undersized a bit but has elite Mental traits and a good work ethic over some one super physically talented but has meh mental and a bad a work eithic. like you know paxton lynch.

We need better pass pro...but which lineman should we take?

No - we need “can’t miss talent” on 5th overall

It is possible that Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield and Allen could go 1, 2, 3, 4. If that happens, one wonders what Denver would do. They could use the pick or trade down. I would be inclined to take Barkley in that scenario, although the more prudent approach might be to trade down. With the top QBs gone, there might be no incentive for another team to trade up with Denver. Food for thought.

It is shaping up to be exactly that.
Buffalo and NYJ didn't get QBs so I'm guessing they trade up. With Cle signing Carlos Hyde they arent taking Barkley at 1 or 4.

Could end up Cle, NYG, Buff, NYJ all taking QB.

I dont know about the Jets. Who knows what the heck they're doing. They just re-signed McCown, also signed Bridgewater, and have Hackenberg. It looks less and less likely that the Jets are going QB in the 1st round, or even the 2nd or 3rd rounds. Unless they decide to just abandon Hackenberg, which is possible I guess.

Word is it's down to Houston or the Giants now.
Hopefully we invest 2 picks early on the o-line and grab a elite talent at DL in FA. looking ahead Wolfe, peko, & S. Harris will be FA next yr and Gotsis could be in jail. We are in rebuild mode so the plan should start at the line of scrimmage.

Take BPA. Depending on how it tumbles it could be between Chubb or Fitzpatrick. Just a feeling the Broncos are not going to draft a QB at #5.

Tend to prefer Fitzpatrick. Versatile play making secondary player fills a need with a potential All-Pro leader in a couple of years.

Have no confidence they will draft a QB. Why? Perhaps they don't see their starter in the group? With Keenum I prefer they stay and take BPA at #5.
Let Lynch, Kelly and another mid/late round draft QB battle it out for the two back-up spots.

I forgot about the Bridgewater deal. You are right, they would likely stay put.

I have faith that Keenum will be a good, useable QB for us IF we can put a team around him. We don't need to draft any QB's for Joseph and staff to ruin. We need need to build a OL to protect him, rebuild the defense to get him the ball back and help him out. He can't win games by himself.

If we can get the qb we want then do what it takes to get him.

If not Barkley would be great. But we have bigger concerns , trade down

This has to be the year that Joseph's magical defensive scouting prowess I kept hearing about last offseason pays off.

If Buffalo doesn't pull a trade with Indi, I can see us potentially trading down with them. I guess it would depend on how we feel about Keenum, and whoever's on the board. You're right about the Offensive Line now. We're going to have to run the crap out of the football this year. Trading down could put us in position to fix that, and hope we knock it out of the park with our defensive picks later on. Either way, we're going to need some things to go right in a big way to be playoff contenders next year. Hopefully Mahomes sucks next year, and Gruden doesn't fix the Raiders right away. I don't feel good about both of those things happening.

                              Here's the dream scenario...
                              CLE- #1 QB

                              IND- #3 Chubb
                              CLE- #4 Barkley -
                              DEN- #5 TRADE to Buffalo for 12, 22, 53, 65

                              Trade Totals

                              Buffalo Gives Value: 2615

                              With those picks get...

This team needs a statement in the first round. We have a lot of ok guys, average guys, and slightly above average guys. We have two elite players with Von and CHJ. Let’s add a third with Barkley, Nelson, Fitz, or Chubbs. We need more playmakers on this team.
