  • Got a QB, Now what?

Broncos' list as free agency opens: Right tackle, No.3 corner, Deal Siemian

I've calmed down a bit and I'm board with the Keenum as long as we put the extra money to use along the line scrimmage.
If we commit to building up that area I'm on board.
We need to get a OT, OG and a DE that can make a difference on 3rd down.
Nelson, Solder and Sheldon Richardson/Suh would restore my faith in Elway and Company.

Solder apparently is not on our radar. Lol

I wouldn't leave the Pats but would hope the Colorado connection could win him over if the money is similar.

QB is out picture for now with the signing of Keenum IMO. If they really believe he can win games for them they better put some money into the O-line. We got to get good somewhere on offense let's start on the O-line

Suh has never lived up to his contract, so he would be a waste of money. Just because they are expensive doesn't mean they are the best player. If all we had to do was purchase the most expensive players and hope they all play up to there expectation, then we wouldn't a scouting team or a GM, any HS graduate could do that. Now finding those nuggets in the non-1st or 2nd rounds takes some talent and at some point this Broncos scouting team will have the pressure to produce by the Executive VP or they are gone. Last year was a joke(!) but that doesn't mean every other year will be a joke too. You heard the saying "doing the same thing but expecting a different result ..." is stupid, well so far Elway has been making a lot of changes and it is still early and we still have plenty of cap space, draft capital and a bunch of new specialized coaches and talent evaluators, so you can't say Elway is doing nothing and you can't expect him to hit on all his picks either. If you have 3 starters from this year's draft, I'd be happy and if we can get 2 more new starters from last year's draft, that would make 5 new starting players which is going to make a real difference this year.

Getting a QB that is a stop gap forces the thought process to invest in an o-line. By not paying KC's contract we should be easily afford it.

How about Dontari Poe? He's a massive body with some quickness, only 27 and had some decent sack numbers early in his career. Sign him to a shorter contract and hope Kolar can help him redevelop that pass rush. At the very least it's another big body in the DT rotation.

With Keenum on board, what do you want to happen in 1st round of draft?

Trade down, we need more players to fill holes and add depth

I would probably trade down too. From what I hear, everyone is going to be taking quarterbacks early, and we have enough of them.

Have to draft Darnold/Rosen/Mayfield. If not we will be in the same boat we are now for the next 5 years.

Thats terrifying, I have 0 faith that he can draft a QB. He has been wrong on every QB so far.
