I saw statistically our OL matched the Vikings. We had the worst qb under pressure and they had one of the best. I have more faith in the Qb reading a pass rush better, aligning his line better, and calming them down. Stewart fell off last year. Not sure if he slowed too much or whether it was having to cover Davis off. Bit of both.

This is 100% correct, part of the olines problem last year was that Trevor has TERRIBLE pocket awareness. He ran himself into sacks last year cuz he doesn't know how to manipulate the pocket like Case can. Our Oline is not as terrible as people on these boards claim. Bolles, McGovern, Leary and Paradis are all solid and Denver is trading for another tackle with the money saved from Vons restructure. We NEED a franchise QB in the worst way and this is the best QB draft class since '83 and we need to do WHATEVER it takes to get one of these guys.

I’m going to play Devils Advocate here because I think 5 can be the worse spot:
1. What a QB- Odds are the one you really wanted was already selected.
2. Not the year to Draft a Qb for Denver: the top 2/3 nonQB could be gone already. Browns and Giants could select non-QB. Browns could go two picks without a qb
3. Trading back may not be an option. Sure many teams would be willing to trade up. However, many teams don’t want to give up the amount of picks to jump to the 5th spot where most you are left with who’s ever left of the QBs. Bills are the only desperate team without a QB but seeing Jets trade up 3 spots and had to give up their 6th pick and three 2nds for just 3 spots is crazy. I could only imagine going from 12 to 5.

Fair enough -
1. I agree & also think there are not super standouts - just good prospects
2. See above / wait / if Case kills it next year and the next extend or franchise him
3. Good / let’s take a stud can’t miss position player

With the moves and rumors, and going by "Best Player Available", it is possible that Safety Mikah Fitzpatrick could very well be our pick.

And a lot of people on this Board believe we should pick an ILB early, every year when the Draft comes around. John Elway consistently disagrees.

Nope because I know Stew can be good. He has shown it. Watson has not and hasn’t even stayed healthy for a full season.

The drop off on defense has a lot to do with the lack of interior pass rush. Fix that, and LBs and the secondary looks a lot better

The Broncos have MLBs Marshall and Todd Davis who they are paying decent money to. This position will not be addressed or need to be addressed until round 5 at the earliest.

Gotta think Jets are targeting Mayfield. Only way to assure Mayfield is to jump to the 2 pick. I think the Giants would be willing to move back to 5.

I just think 1 thru 10 (and I believe Ridley goes before 5) and Roquan should go about 10, the other 8 everyone else is set on, and all help out without needing to sell any assets.

I am willing to bet he is the 4th or 5th WB off the board.

At 4, the Browns could get either Barkley, Chubb or Nelson. The Browns have 5 picks in the first 2 rounds, the Broncos have 1 pick in the 1st and 1 in the 2nd.

It would be just make sense for the Browns to stick at 4 and pick Nelson to help fill the huge gap that Joe Thomas left on their o-line. Then that will leave us with Chubb or Barkely (assuming Giants pick QB). I expected more of an impact when Shane Ray came back from his wrist injury, since Ware left, the pressure hasn't been a real threat on that side and Von has been getting more double teaming. Getting Chubb will likely give the ball back to the offense and prevent opponent's points theoretically. Von is at least midway through his career and it will take any rookie a year or two get used to the speed of the game at the NFL level. Barkely would be nice but RBs don't last as long and aren't used as much as a DE and Chubb would give us great depth and DE. We might be able to move up to get Will Hernandez, but I don't know if we have enough to offer unless we offer next year's picks if a one of our 3rd round picks isn't good enough.

The Browns will be winners if the take Barkley, Chubb or Nelson in addition to a QB at #1, so there would be smart to stay at #4.

If that is the case, I see the colts getting another haul to move back again, maybe by the Bills or Cardinals
