If the guard becomes an all pro then the pick is well worth it. We have seen how bad guard play can derail an offense (our own) and we also seen how solid guard play can neutralize an edge rush (our own) keeping the pocket clean for a QB to step up and make his throws. A player that is projected to be an instant impact player that can improve both our pass and run is well worth it.

As for this mock I like Chubb and watching him more and more I think he can make the switch to a 3-4 and play for us much like doom used to by having him as a linebacker in our base sets and then having him put his hand in the dirt as a defensive end on passing downs. He might struggle in coverage but I don’t expect him to be Todd Davis bad. All in all great mock.

Feel like you just want to argue with people by constantly bashing a guard at #5. Nelson has All-Pro/Hall of Fame potential. Nothing is guaranteed in the draft but calling a pick a waste when he has that kind of talent is senseless.

Hope Chubb or Barkley is there at 5. But if we get Nelson at 5, we should be able to get those 3rd and short rather easily. Could be great to have a couple of Chubbs as rookies. I guess they're 2nd cousins.

I don't think Chubb will be there. I think the Giants make a move at 2 for Barkley or Chubb since they just gave away JPP. If he gets past the Giants the Brown's will snag him at 4, imo. I believe Denver will choose between Nelson or a QB

Chubb could very well be the pick for us if we stay at 5. Ray just doesn't seem like he's developing into the full-time force across from Miller that we need. Having Miller and Chubb starting with Barrett and Ray rotating in could be very formidable.

I love the idea of getting Shaqueem Griffin however I doubt he lasts to the 4th round. Dude will be a ST stud as a rookie and can develop into an impact starter.

Rest of it looks pretty solid as far as positions go. I agree that we probably put OT on the back burner, take some flyers in the late rounds and see if we catch lightning we them.

started a topic Month to go Mock.

    Month to go Mock.

Time for another wild guess at what the Broncos will do in the draft.
I think some of the pressure is off on the OL & DL with Veldeer and McDonald can go for BPA in the draft.
So this mock is figured on the Broncos staying put in their current draft order.

    1. Bradley Chubb, DE/ OLB, NC St.
How about a pair of top notch book ends to bring the heat.
When the Broncos had Ware and Miller every team they played
had a whole lot to worry about.
With the addition of Chubb, the orange rush will be back.

    2. Christian Kirk, WR, Texas A&M.
Kirk has game changer written all over him.
Top notch receiver, punt and kick returner
Kirk can get rid of our return issues the Broncos have had.

    3a. Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia.
Just a real good RB, with speed and power.
can get another gear on the second level.

    3b. Duke Dawson, CB, Florida.
Good cover guy, bring him in and see what he can do.

    4a. Ian Thomas, TE, Indiana.
Showed great hands and route running. Blocking just so so.

    4b.. Shaquem Griffin, ILB, CFU.
Just a player. All over the field. Really fast. Sure tackler.
Hope he would last this long where we can get him.'

    5a. Micah Kiser, ILB, Virginia.
A good LB, coverage skills are the only question about his game.

5b. Daurice Fountain, WR, N. Iowa.
Sleeper receiver. Kind of reminds me of Rod Smith.
Great at the level he played.

5c. Desmond Harrison. OT, Georgia State.
    Or Will Richardson, NC St.
    Gamble time.
    Both players have had issues.
    Both are really good too.
Working...
