  • RBs in this draft

Who is the bruiser? Who’s the hardest running RB? The zek/fournette/Henry type? I look at Barkley as more of a LT type RB.

  • #2
Nick Chubb was the first guy I thought of. Bo Scarborough is a load himself.

I like Chubb. But we can probably find another RB later and address more needs.Just my thought which means nothing.

Not a bruiser by any means but quickly becomming one of my favorite prospects is Akrum Wadley out of Iowa. This guy has what our offense needs as far as versatility at RB and ST. I think this guy is going to be one of the best value picks. If you haven't seen his stuff on tape check him out. He would be a great piece in our offense.

Chris Warren is big bruiser type of back, but for the most part these guys are utility backs at the top of the draft. There are a bunch of guys who can give many looks.

Nick chub is the most well rounded. Then Bo Scarbrough but he bounces to the outside way to much seems like every run he tries to run for the sidelines vs using his power to his advantage. There is also kieth ford who run style mimics fournette the most but he doesn’t have the size and will probably go undrafted. Royce freeman is more like cj then the guys you mentioned but I like him. Ballage can be one when he wants to be. I’m sure there might be some more but that’s the ones I know.

Would you say that Michel and. Penny could help us depending on how this crazy draft will go.

They very well could end up being the 2 best RB in this draft.

Barkley, Penny, Michel, Jones, Wadley, Ito Smith all good fits for us.
Wadley and Smith are both flying under the radar but have some special traits. Smith has similar elite separation ability and lateral moves Barkley has....not the power but certainly the ability to break something open.

I worry about Alabama RBs, it seems like they get worn out in college, and very few have an impact in the NFL. Now having said that I acknowledge he only had 267 (or so) carries in college.

If the new rule (15-yard penalty for lowering head to initiate, make contact with helmet) gets accepted, a bruising RB may end up being a liability. This may mean that the RB that can be a better receiver and get through the secondary might be the type we are looking for.

Nick Chubb probably would have been the #1 RB prospect if he hadn't sustained his knee injury against Tennessee in his sophomore year. He had 13 straight 100 yard rushing games until after that injury, but afterwards it's pretty clear his productivity went down, from explosiveness to overall yards rushed. To me that's a sign of concern that he'll never be an elite RB that can change the offense in ways that players like Ezekiel Elliott and Alvin Kamara can. If anything, he probably will be more or less the same as CJ Anderson.

Bo could be a decent late round selection. A true power back who had some good numbers at the combine.

i'd really like a guy like ronald jones II with our current rb caps to add speed and a back who has/can be an explosive home run threat.. which i feel will compliment booker or anderson perfectly.

I think that's the type everyone is looking for now. I think Alvin Kamara is the prototype for RBs now.
