  • Broncos Eyeing Tight Ends

    https://www.profootballrumors.com/20...roncos-raiders

Here’s more from the NFL’s two West divisions:

The Broncos are “doing a lot of homework” on collegiate tight end prospects in advance of the 2019 draft, according to Tony Pauline of DraftAnalyst.net (Twitter link). Denver has spent consecutive fifth-round picks on tight ends, but both of the club’s selections have fallen victim to injury. 2017 draft choice Jake Butt missed his entire rookie year while recovering from an ACL tear; he played in three games this season before suffering yet another torn ACL (the third of his football career). Meanwhile, 2018 selection Troy Fumagalli has been on IR since August after going down with a thigh injury. Per Gavrino Borquez of USA Today’s Draftwire, the top draft-eligible tight ends include Noah Fant (Iowa), Kaden Smith (Stanford), and T.J. Hockenson (Iowa).

This isn't just the homer in me, Fant is an absolute beast!! He would be a starter day one for sure. Hockenson doesn't get a lot of hype because of Fant but he is better than Kittle.....Fact, not just opinion.

It's a need, but we don't seem to use TEs that much anyway. Maybe LaCosse can turn into a decent player.

Hockenson would be the perfect pick for Denver. Fant will go in the first round, and we have more needs at QB, OL, and CB. I'm a fan of BPA, but we have some problem areas that need addressed! Hockenson is a monster blocker, and a great athlete, so he would be a perfect second rounder in my opinion.

          T.J. Hockenson is a sophomore.

I believe he is a red shirt sophomore, nfl regulations are players have to be 3 years removed from high school and that would qualify him..... if he wanted to. He hasn't made any decisions yet

If we get a QB first, I’m ok with a TE later.

I'm guessing he stays for another year with Stanley.

I'm guessing he will too, but that speaks volumes about the kid and his ability if he is considered one of the league's best and he is still only a sophomore

Either of the Hawkeyes tight ends would be great for us

                      Iowa's roster says he's a true sophomore.

                          Yep, QB must be first.

I'd be okay worry a TE depending on Heuerman. He could be cheap re-signing. We have talent with him, Butt. and Lacosse but lots of injuries there. Last year's 5th in Fumagali is the same, tons of talent and injuries.

I could see us not drafting one at all..
