  • The "Whose Stock Is Rising" (and sadly, whose is falling) Thread

Seeing as The Combine is set to go very soon, I thought it would be cool to start a thread that has a primary focus on who is rising in the draft circles....and yes, who is falling down the charts.

As of today, I have no one specifically in mind, but I am quite sure that will change by the end of next week's Combine. But as usual, I am quite sure a QB or two find their names rising or otherwise. At some point, one of them may leap ahead of the pack, and move close to the very top of the draft....which may lead to increased trading to land "the guy" for your franchise.

I also expect some Pass Rushers to wake up some folks, because just like QBs, these dudes have a huge role in the passing game. You have a passer and you have a passer stopper.

Also, I feel that one or more Oliners will rise, given that a great Oline draftee is a prized possession, and is usually described as a safe bet, and one who can anchor your line for 10 or more seasons.

And yes, then there's the athletic freaks and the studs whose skills shine brighter versus their competitors. Maybe a CB. Maybe a WR. Maybe an RB. Could be any position pretty much. But we all know who that guy is when we see them matched against the entire group.

Looking forward to this part of the season! So much to learn, so much to assess, so much excitement in the air! And hopefully a few new starters for our Broncos, year one!!

I’ll be interested to see how Nasir Adderley times in the 40, if he runs in the 4.4 range his stock will soar through the roof. It’s already going up from his play at the Senior Bowl which forced teams to go back and watch him. If he runs that fast he could be a top 10 pick as elite Safeties that can play centerfield are rare and extremely valuable to a defense. Not to mention he could play SS, can slide down and be a nickel corner, and gives you value on special teams as a gunner and return man.

Some other guys that I expect to rise: Cody Ford, Jawaan Taylor, KeeSean Johnson, Zach Allen, Chris Lindstrom, Andy Isabella, Terrill Hanks, Josh Oliver

Not sure who all will fall, probably some of these bigger WRs like N’Keal Harry and AJ Brown who probably won’t run great times. I think Jonah Williams will get dinged for his lack of length even though he’s shown he can overcome that through excellent technique.

Nasir Adderley is one of the best small school defensive backs in the entire 2019 NFL Draft, but this play on Special Teams is insane. Adderley makes the pl...

Got to love someone that can stop to stare someone down and still score a TD lol

Given that Kyler Murray is Daniel Jeremiah's highest ranked QB (in his Top 50) I would gather that Murray's stock is in a pretty good place, maybe getting better.

As I post this, TD states that Arizona should draft Murray, because he's the dynamic type (like Mahomes) that can give their franchise a boost.

              Who might slide/be overdrafted?

With all the talk about teams trading up, who do you think will be overdrafted, who might slide?

              Just a bit of fun.

For me, Hockenson, and Metcalf will be overdrafted, along with almost every QB.

Bosa and the Devin brothers will slide.

That's my take, too. I kind of hope Ed Oliver will be there at #10, and the Broncos pick him.

I think Murray will "slide" because I dont think GMs are as high on him as the fans

He won’t slide because Kingsbury is high on him and I think the Gm will give him what he wants.

But if it’s a smokescreen and they take Bosa then I agree after that he will slide out of the top 10. I just think it’s going to be #1.

As for others I could see Lock sliding out of the first round when Elway for the second year in a row is in shock over a top 5 defensive player falling to us.

I’m thinking Dexter Lawerence is going to drop. I think he should be a mid to late first but will fall to early to mid second round imo

I think it is a media fabrication that KK is "high" on Murray. I think he will be the 3rd QB taken, behind Lock and then Haskins, at best.

I don't think there's any way Lock falls out of the 1st. I get the feeling he is among the top 3 players overall on the team's big board. Probably after Bosa and Williams, but maybe ahead.

Rising (in the last couple of months)....

                          IMO.....

Murray, Sweat, Lock, Oliver, White and Bush. Watch for a couple of the Oliners to rise, when teams realize they have a need to fill. Same goes for the top WRs, and possibly an RB or two.

The Dliners/OLBs are not rising so much, given they were already there. Lots of Dbacks to choose from, so though not near the top this year, there will be plenty to choose from if a team wants one.

I’ve heard several reports that no Gm except Elway believes he is a first round talent.

I think you are right. I hope we take him if he does fall, unless we go DT first round.
