Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

The San Francisco 49ers are releasing veteran linebacker Malcolm Smith, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
The 49ers initially signed Smith to a five-year deal on March 9, 2017, worth up to $26.5 million. He was due $3.75 million in 2019 but restructured his contract, which essentially became a one-year deal, this offseason to remain with the 49ers. The remaining years on the deal voided on March 17.
The Seattle Seahawks made Smith a seventh-round selection out of USC in 2011. He registered 35 combined tackles and a pass defensed through 12 games and five starts with the 49ers in 2018 but struggled to stay on the field due to an Achilles injury. That was after Smith missed the 2017 season after sustaining a torn pectoral muscle during training camp of that year.
Smith has recorded 390 combined tackles, six sacks, 17 passes defensed, four interceptions, a touchdown, and eight forced fumbles through his seven NFL seasons. He also spent time with the Oakland Raiders during his professional career.
I read somewhere Kiko Alonso is being shopped in Miami, or maybe will be cut. Any Takers?
He’s been bounced around the league but he always racks up a ton of tackles. Haven’t watched him too much so I’m not sure if it’s just circumstance or he’s one of those LBs that just makes a lot of tackles down the field. I’d probably be down to kick the tires but probably not at his current price tag
