It was close until late. But the only reason it was that close was some tough decisions Rypien made. I thought he had a good game overall, but obviously those 3 throws I'm sure he'd want back.

Broncos should be looking towards a stud OT or a game changer on Defense. Sewell or Parsons would be my first choices

Originally posted by Butler By'Note View PostThere is a huge range absolutely, but Denver isn't bad enough to threaten for that top pick. The Jets are historically bad. There are several other teams worse than Denver. Eventually injuries will level out, and players will start coming back and Denver will be winning more. For all of the hyperbole people have used, the only blowout was the Bucs game. Denver lost to a good Titans team by 2, despite the defense playing poorly. And they lost to the Steelers by 5, despite having a backup QB in. This team isn't as bad as some people think.

In the event that Denver feels the need to draft a QB next year and they don't have the first pick, which turns out to be Trevor Lawrence, other QBs will be available including Sam Ehlinger.

But I think tonight shows us Denver won't get a chance to draft him or Fields. The Jets are just that bad. And several other teams are equally bad. I think Denver's floor will be 4 or 5 wins (I still think they can get up to 9 if they get some guys back sooner rather than later), and the top 4 or 5 picks will all be teams with 4 or fewer wins.

In his 32 starts I believe Clemson has been in somewhere around 4 that were decided by one score or less. In his first of those games (2018 v Texas A&M) they had a big lead and gave up a couple of scores in the 4th quarter to make it closer. In the second he was injured and his backup came on and helped them win. The third was against North Carolina last year and Carolina got it to 1 point right at the end of the game, but opted to go for 2 and try to win, the Clemson defense made the play. The final one was against Ohio State in the semi-final, and in that game he did lead his team to victory with a drive late in the game. It's a small gripe, but it is one.
