So who do you think Denver is going to bring in off the Free Agency Wire? Any word when Free Agency Begins? Who do you all want to see come to Denver as a Free Agent ( Not Talking About Trades) ?

If I had to pick, I would say Harold Landry, Morgan Moses and Linval Joseph

I like Van Noy as an option now that he has become a cap casualty. He has the ability to play on or off the LOS and could be had for a pretty reasonable deal, I assume.
66 tackles, 5 sacks and 10 passes defended is still pretty good numbers and something I could see him replicate here.

If the Rodgers situation is still in the air I think it’ll be a slow start. But honestly if it isn’t a done deal at that point it’s time to move on and build the team up. Fully expect Von to sign here although Dallas may make him hesitate. Foye Olokun is an interesting name to monitor at ILB although I’m hoping Young is brought back, thought him and Browning were a great duo. I think Matthieu will be another guy we have interest in, we don’t have a true slot CB and Kareem Jackson is likely going to walk. I think Sterns can be great, but Matthieu excels in the nickel as well. He’d give us some versatility with our safeties and obviously brings the added value of taking away from a rival.

This will probably be a defensive heavy free agency period. I don’t think there’s really a ton of intriguing offensive options for us outside of maybe Becton being made available. We might sign a RB for cheap, maybe Lindsay comes back. Or Patterson would be intriguing if he can be coerced away from Atlanta although with Ridley being suspended for at least a year he’s probably definitely being brought back.

Whoever the best available returner is too, tired of watching Spencer run into the first guy he sees.

Hard to predict any free agency decisions until they have clarity with Rodgers or any free agent QB.

The more spent on a QB eats up cap space for those marquee free agents. QB plan needs to be resolved. Once that domino falls the rest can fall into place. Makes a big difference if Rodgers at $45+m, or a journeyman ( Bridgewater?) at $15m or if they plan on a Lock/ rookie combo.

At least now one domino has fallen. QB hole is filled.

Also means significantly less to be spent of free agents. Paton still has a lot of work to do to build this roster with a much smaller war chest and unrealistically increased expectations.

Going to be fun to see how he does it.

We still have roughly 24 mil although it’ll end up being 26 mil as we can finally cut Daesean Hamilton. Darby and Bolles are potential restructure candidates. Chubb is getting nearly 14 mil on the 5th year option, he may get a new deal that drastically lowers that number. Russell Wilson getting a new deal that lowers his cap number isn’t out of the question either, in fact I’d assume that he’ll be getting a new deal before the start of FA.

All in all I think we’ll end up having 35-45 million to work with.

I hope you are correct in those speculations! Adding $10-20 m by restructuring contracts? I’m in.

Broncos have some significant roster spots to fill. Some of them expensive and need multiple players at the position.
RT, ILB, CB, Edge rusher, Dline, backup QB, TE, quality depth for those inevitable injuries.

Paton needs to hit on late round picks and some under the radar FAs.

I do think Danielle Hunter is a big name to keep an eye on. Obviously there’s the Paton connection, the Broncos need a pass rusher, but there’s also Ed Donatell switching the Vikings to a 3-4. Hunter’s contract really isn’t bad as it’s mainly a roster bonus that if they don’t trade him will be converted to a signing bonus that will spread out over his 2 voidable years. But Donatell knows Chubb and Chubb knows the defense, both Hunter and Chubb have had injury issues, but Chubb could potentially be cheaper on a longer deal and net them an extra pick or two (not a first or second). If we could pull that trade off, Hunter would be at a lower cap hit than Chubb currently is and we’d be getting the better player although he has the more serious injury history.

If that doesn’t happen, I think Bilal Nichols and Fatukasi are going to be 2 dline men we look hard at. I think ILB is good if we bring back Young, but I’d be ok with Griffith/Browning too, much more than Jewell/Alexander at least. I think Von comes back, just not sure on the number for him. CB and RT will probably be what we attempt to address in the draft. I think Saubert/Beck get cheap deals to come back to backup AOK and I’m ok with that. Backup QB will likely come from the draft.

I think our one splash signing (in terms of money) would be Carlton Davis. Very good young physical CB. JC Jackson is the better ball hawk but Davis fits in with the current mold of our DBs.

Yes, but Denver only gave up Fant and Lock on the offensive side; essentially nothing. There is one other player TBD, but Wilson has weapons to work with!!

We need a TE who is multi dimensional. I hope we make a play for CJ Uzomah. He has been a big part of the run game success for Mixon and often was used as the lead blocker. I am not sure the Bengals will let him walk especially as they have a lot of cap to work with. He may be out of price range for us.
Albert O and CJ Uzomah could make a nice tandem that gives us flexibility at the position. We definitely need to add someone and it's tough for rookies to step into that role.
