    NFL.com released their top 101 free agents. Took a look through it and there are definitely some big names out there who could help our team get back to playing good ball. If we can make a few cuts and restructure or trade a few guys we could have enough cap to make a few moves here. Here’s my list of top FA

    Mike Mcglinchey OT
    Jamel Dean CB
    Jessie Bates FS/SS
    Jaawan Taylor OT
    Kaleb Mcgeary OT
    Bobby Okereke LB
    Jamal Williams RB
    Raheem Mostert RB
    Nate Davis LG/RG
    Daron Payne DT

    If we can sign one OT, LG/RG, add a running back, and one or two defensive pieces I believe we will be set up nicely before the draft. Hoping for some good deals this year.

    Thoughts? Comments? Go broncos.

    Here are some alternatives I like.

    Instead of Dre'Mont Jones maybe DL Zach Allen. Already familiar with our DC and OTC valuation is on par with Jones. If Jones wants too much we could pivot.
    Instead of McGlinchey or Taylor maybe OT J Eluemunor. Coming out party last year ranking 4th best amoung RT in pass blocking. Could help us streatch the FA $$$ while solidifying RT.
    Instead of Bates maybe S Chauncey Gardner-Johnson Before becoming Broncos HC, Payton commented on he did not understand the saints traing this guy away...

    Would also like to pair PS2 with another elite man CB to fill out the seconday. My 2 cents.

        Thanks for this. I know we need O-Line help in a big way. I just feel so scared and bitter about our recent track record of Free agent tackles. Maybe it's just what happened with Ja'Wuan James.

        Tackles seem to be overpaid in free agency, tackles that are above average, but not amazing like Mike Mcglinchey OT are going to get massive contracts.
        Man, I'm still in a world of hurt with Ja'Wuan James.

        I mean...... have we even signed a free agency offensive lineman over the years that's actually been good value? Even if it's a Guard or a Centre?
        Without hitting Google to see, I'm hard pressed to think of a time we got it right?

        Our O-Line is so bad, people are wanting us to re-sign Dalton Risner who is basically replacement level standard as a player. He is someone you start, but you know you need to upgrade with someone else.

        If we go in all in with one splash $15 to $20m a season player, even though our offensive needs a lot of help, I'll go for Daron Payne DT PLUS we MUST re-sign Dremont Jones. He can't leave.

        I'd rather we kept Jones, and extended Jeudy, even if it means do not have the money for a splash or sexy new FA signing.

        EDIT: If we extend Jeudy, in no way am I talking about Top 5 WR money level, he would need to take a little bit of a home discount / team friendly extension, or F*** him, he can bet on himself in this contract year, and if he does well and we can't resign him, then fair enough to him and good luck. I want JJ next season, even if we lose him to FA and get a 3rd round comp pick for him.

          Couple of names to add along the offensive line.

          Andrus Peat - Guard - New Orleans
          Although not a free agent, New Orleans needs the salary cap room. They've essentially restructured everyone along the offensive line but Peat, making it seem that there's a chance they part with him. Seems like a natural fit to bring in one of Payton's former players.

          Andre Dillard T Philadelphia
          He has played sparingly as the swing tackle for the Eagles. I'd be willing to take a chance on Dillard, who has shown flashes in his limited time, rather than giving out a big payday to one of the top taclkes again.

          Only one I don't want is McGlinchey. The sight of Micah Parsons rag dolling him in the playoffs is enough to scare me away.

            Very true I can’t remember off the top of my head signing any value on the offensive line, but that’s really how bad it’s been. I would be happy if the only moves we made in the draft and free agency were the trenches.

            Payne would be an awesome addition. I could see the defense very dominant with Payne, Jones, Browning, Surtain, Simmons.

              Peat and Dillard would be welcome additions for sure and wouldn’t break the bank. I like it.

                I wouldn't want to rely on Mostert. Very low chance he stays healthy, and that's even getting ten or fewer touches a game. Otherwise, he would be an ideal complimentary back to Williams.

                Jamaal is probably going to re-sign with Detroit. I can't imagine why it wouldn't happen unless maybe if someone wanted to overpay him. Overpaying on Williams probably starts around 5 per.

                I think draft might be the way to go if they want another. I do like Badie and even though he's 33, you could do a hell of a lot worse than Latavius on a cheap contract as depth behind Javonte. The one thing I thought Badie needed to work on coming out was pass pro, and that's something that usually improves. Still, there are a handful of RBs I like in certain spots. I think there's a really good chance one falls. I think about guys like Khalil Herbert and Jerome Ford the year after, who had no business falling as far as they did. It's very likely to happen.

                I don't know what's going to happen with Edmonds. My guess is he's gone, but we'll see.

                        My final thoughts on FA with tampering period a couple days off.

                        I do like 3 AZ players I am hoping follow Vance to Denver: DE Z Allen, CB Murphy, and OLB Golden. Golden would not be an expensive option to add to our OLB depth. He had 11 sacks in 2021 and still generated decent pressure on QBs last year with 20 QB hits.

                        Dream OL rebuild: SRT McGlinchey, OC Pocic, Draft LG Steve Avilia or Cody Mauch

                        Controversial take: Deal Jeudy and a 3rd for a mid to later 1st and draft RB BIJAN ROBINSON if opportunity comes up. With new OL and this RB, instant improvement on O.

                          The 1st free agent signed better be a right tackle

                            If the offensive line is fully addressed in FA this wouldn't be the worst idea in the world but our Dline needs addressed before we draft luxury picks like RB or WR

                              Agree, but UFA RTs have been signed before. Eventually it will work ... right?

                              UFA Right Tackles Since Orlando Franklin:
                              Paul Cornick;
                              Louis Vasquez;
                              Ryan Harris;
                              Tyler Polumbus;
                              Donald Stephenson;
                              Darrion Weems;
                              Menelik Watson;
                              Cyrus Kouandijo;
                              Jake Rodgers;
                              Ja'Wuan James;
                              DeMar Dotson;
                              Bobbie Massie;
                              Cam Fleming;
                              Billy Turner;
                              Tom Compton.

                              Michael Schofield was drafted 3rd, number 95 in 2015;
                              Chris Clark was claimed on waivers in 2010;
                              Denver traded a 6th to AZ for Jared Veldheer in 2018;
                              Elijah Wilkinson was UDFA in 2017;
                              Calvin Anderson was signed from Jets' PS in 2020;
                              Quinn Bailey was UDFA in 2019.

                              22nd time is the charm?
