I've got to admit, that the bolts completely fleeced the Seahawks.

Getting a higher second rounder for a third string qb is impressive. Add in a 2011 3rd rounder and wow!
    Props!

Agreed. But, if they have the picks to give, they are getting a pro QB groomed under Norv Turner / Rivers / Volek. They could end up very happy with that trade.....who knows.

      I can see it now...

SD missed playoffs. Seahawks beat Saints in NFCC game, then go on to beat NYJ in the SB.

LT and Whitehurst in the SB, Whitehurst wins a SB year after Brees, Seahawks win one before SD, SD misses playoffs first time in Rivers era, Brees makes it back to 3rd NFCC game.

That would be infinite smack material against SD fans. Luckily for us, we win our first of more than a handful of SB's this decade, in 2010.

      So all good.

Don't get too ahead of yourself, winning 1 first might be a good start.

I haven't seen much of the kid. It's really risky to give up so much for someone who hasn't had much real NFL playing time.
So the trade involves a lot of unknowns and hope on Seattle's part.

You guys are starting to have enough roster turnover, that it smells a little of retooling. Just saying...

well we need to "retool" our running game and part of our defense. not like we have to rebuild our whole team though.

I have to add some OL additions for you too.

But your somewhat sound. The losses of players will have an impact. It's just a matter of how much ground you regain in the draft.

Losing a player like LT & Jamal might have profound effects on the team chemistry. That will be harder to overcome.

way to go Pete Carroll... someone did tell him this isn't college right?
He's still Tim Tebow... and you're NOT!
But Peyton Manning will win a Super Bowl.

Contrary to popular belief, I think LT was more devisive in that locker room than what people saw. He may have said publicly that he was a team guy, but he's actions spoke differently. He was never comfortable with Norv's passion for a passing game or with the team running through Rivers. I think the team is going to take a huge step forward with his departure - partly because his skills have diminished, but more importantly because of the chemistry.

very true, i forgot about that....even though i am happy with the pass blocking, its the run blocking that needs serious help.

jwall was out the entire year last year, yes it had a huge impact on the front seven but we can get better if we upgrade that position which i am pretty sure we will early in the draft.

LT will be missed for sure but we were the worst running team in the NFL with him last year. not saying it was all his fault because it wasn't, but you gotta think that the running game can only get better when we get some fresh legs back there and hopefully get some better run blocking.

It does sound like we got over...its final.

A third in 2011, swap our 60th this year for their 40th (this is HUGE), and they gave the kid a 10 mil/2 year contract. 28th and 40th.....hopefully we can get our RB and NT here...Im hearing whispers we may go CB if the elite are still there at 28.

I am looking at the kids stats now...

                            5 td 7 ints in 5 pre-seasons.
                            104-197 att/comp
                            6 fumbles
                            Sacked 13 times.

                            Against mostly third string defenses...

I fail to see how this is a 3rd round pick plus a swap of the 2nds.

Brady Quinn against 1st/2nd string defenses produced in 3 years

                              5 tds, 3 ints
                              91 comp/138 att
                              sacked twice
                              1 fumble.

and we got him for two late picks? Seattle is a little dur dur dur.
