This is your cue to exit this conversation - otherwise, you will continue to drive your football IQ so low that it will look like Tebow's Wonderlic score.

Marty got fired for his personality clash with AJ Smith. After that playoff loss, he let almost his entire staff walk (OC, DC, LB coach, TE coach, and I think one other) while they were still under contract. The straw that broke the camels back was when he tried to hire his son to fill one of those voids.

I'm sure the playoff loses (especially a #1 seed) added to the mix. But, saying he should have been allowed to continue "with the staff he'd brought together" is just plain ignorant.

    Yes.

You and your cohort cite this fact frequently.

Your owner became blinded by the chance of a championship and got impatient (stupidly because I really think with the talent that was on the team at the time you'd have already won a superbowl by now had you not been so impatient and fired one of the best coaches in chargers history)

The dude knows very little about football besides what he reads on the General Discussion board.

I would love to stay focused on the present. But, every time you start debating this year's teams, Donk fan quickly realizes there will be nothing but crow to eat at the end of the year.

How many times does Norv get? I'm assuming this last run is definitly strike one?

Or will a couple playoff wins every few years secure his coaching position for a long period of time?

norv on the other hand is 3-3 in the playoffs and only choked one time, last year to the jets.

he actually won more games that his team was the underdog in, which conveniently gets ignored by you donk fans all of the time.

marty was the better head coach overall, don't get me wrong. but come playoff time there is no comparison.

norv > marty which still isn't saying a whole lot to be honest.

i agree but you don't ever see broncos fans acting like the chargers will never win a SB because of their past? isn't that the same thing as predicting the future?

i will say that acting like the broncos are a better team today because of their past is just as dumb as predicting the future.

same as pretending the chargers are a bad team today because they have no rings in their past and pretending it has some sort of barring on what will happen this year or in the future.

its all pretty dumb if you ask me.

Blind homerism, please show all my posts that show my blind homerism, like where I said we have been an average team for the last 4 years(Anywhere from 7-9 to 9-7)?

What superior football knowledge do you need to say Norv sucks as a head coach?

So Norv has a reputation for not being able to get to a Superbowl. So you just smacked your own team for hiring a coach that can't do what it wants more than anything, a SB win?

So your saying in the post above, you will never win a SB with Norv, but you will have tons of developed QB's, just what every team wants.

Awesome, no need for smack, the Chargers bring it on themselves....

The last century ended in 2000, so should we just go ahead and say it was a Century ago?

IT's OK, sandeGAYgo fanz, I was just like you are now. Starting in 1977 through 1997, for 20 years, that is ALL I had to hang my hat on too, was a BUNCH of AFC WEST titles, and a BUNCH of AFC Championship Titles, but no BLINGAGE to show for it, and had to listen to a BUNCH of CRAP from 3 time Champs Oakland Raider Fans about never winning the big one, or even coming CLOSE for that matter!!

SAD thing is though, you Sparkler chumps are supposed to FINALLY break through EVERY YEAR according to the so-called-experts, but all you end up doing is CHOKING yr. after yr. after yr.

WAIT! Thats actually the FUNNY THING!!!! My bad!!!

Well in my opinion, they are both horrible playoff coaches. Marty struggled in the post season everywhere he coached, as has Norv.

But, what makes him a better is that 3>>>0.....the number of playoff wins he has compared to Marty with basically the same team.
