Cutler tabbed FedEx Air NFL player of the week
    Posted: 9/17/2010 3:09:00 PM
Voters on NFL.com have selected Bears quarterback Jay Cutler as the FedEx Air NFL player of the week for his performance in last Sunday’s season-opening win over the Lions.

Cutler completed 23 of 35 passes for 372 yards with two touchdowns, one interception and a 108.3 passer rating. The 372 yards were the second most in Cutler’s career, topped only by the 447 he compiled at Cleveland on Nov. 6, 2008 when he played for the Broncos. The 372 yards also were the most by a Bears quarterback in a season opener and tied for the sixth most in franchise history.

Cutler, who was selected from among six finalists, threw for the second-most yards in Week 1, topped only by the Indianapolis Colts’ Peyton Manning, who passed for 433 yards in a loss to the Houston Texans.

Cutler also scrambled for 22 yards on five carries, helping the Bears compile 463 total yards, the most since Oct. 26, 1997 when they had 465 in an overtime win over the Dolphins in Miami.

sigpic The most explosive QB-WR tandem in the past decade. Off with their heads! And while you're at it, fire Nolan! He only led 6 of 12 defenses to top 10 in points scored against.

83 or 89 were due to a dumpoff, and who gives a crap about Cutler.. How is this smack related..

He'll have a terrible game against Dallas, that Front 7 against the Bears OL is going to be hilarious to watch..

Now I know a lot of people cannot stand Jay here on these boards, and I would like to appologize for his success. This is for those who like to see former Broncos succeed. I know the Cutler bashers dislike him because he isn't a good QB, not because it hurts that he was traded by McDaniels.

For what it's worth Orton is a very solid QB. I hope he stays in Denver. When he has a full compliment of WRs and Clady, I am confident he will be winning these too. Orton does have a lot of weapons at the skill positions (especially when Moreno gets fully recovered), a top notch line, and as much as I dislike the HC, McD knows how to get the most from a QB.

Well, my drunk friend, that is in the eye of the beerholder. While I may not be an expert by any stretch, I know that throwing into coverage usually ends badly in the NFL. It did for us, on many, many occasions.

How exactly did he pull this off? manning was miles better than him on sunday, unless 60 more passing yards, 2 fewer turnovers and 1 more TD don't count... and dont give me the "well cutler won and manning didnt" argument, manning was playing a much better team on the road while chicago screwed over the lions at home.
Manning Fatigue (noun): The act of being sick as hell of watching a HOF qb take half of forever to decide what to do and just wishing he'd make up his mind.

Then i am wondering why you put this in smack, and not other football teams where it belongs.

I think it was Sterling Sharpe this past week who said-

"I'm not suprised Cutler threw for 372 yards... I am surprised he threw more touchdowns then interceptions..."

Then your OP might have been better suited for "other teams". Now, you've entered into Cutler bashing and smack at him.
