Domb gave up 3.5 sacks during the first five weeks, and he got beat alot by hali. 3.5 sacks in five weeks are not bad numbers, but they are not good either, you want an lt to give up 6 at mostLeave a comment:

You guys can argue and repeat the tired old arguments you gave us all summer long.
Doesn't chang the fact that AJ disagrees with you.
I guess either he knows the team better or you guys do.
And if the fans do, then heaven help the future of the Chargers.Leave a comment:

If someone is replaceable, replace them... especially if they are asking for a high value contract...
if you guys are telling me he won't help your team, whats the use of having him on it?
Thats like the colts saying peyton manning is replaceable but we'll pay him his 500 million a year anyways...
(yes, i am comparing him to a QB... sue me)
edit: forgot this was america, don't sue me
personally i would rather have marcus in there but at least we know if he or someone else goes down we have a quality back up.Leave a comment:

if you would actually read the posts, i explain this in full detail already.
i never said having mcneil wouldn't help, i said he couldn't have protected rivers much better because dombroski did that well.
kind of pointless to even make this thread to be honest (sorry jetrazor) when rivers was getting protected pretty well on his blind side with dombroski in there.Leave a comment:

First of all, nobody is saying he is "irrelevant". Some of us are saying that he is "replaceable" - much the same way Denver fans feel about BMarsh.
Second of all, he has been on the market for awhile. But, the asking price is apparently to high - both AJ's compensation and VJ's salary demands.

Again.. if VJax is irrelevant on your offense, trade him away... who needs him..Leave a comment:

Most of the "regular" Charger fans on here had a specific take about the guys holding out. But, you guys seems to get a kick out of listening to the vocal minority of trolls that dropped in during the off-season.
Just to repeat, here is what we said......
1) Of the players not reporting to camp (VJ, McNeil, Merriman), McNeil would be missed the most.
2) AJ Smith was going to take care of players in a certain order....and, only once they were with the team. Gates was priority #1 and McNeil was #2.
3) Vincent Jackson's 68 catches would be made up by other players - including Floyd, Gates, Nanee, Davis.....and more rushing attempts per game.
This should have been taken care of in the off-season. But, (unfortunately) AJ isn't very flexible and it he made it play out the way he wanted it to. In the end, the Chargers have their LT of the future and McNeil has his long term contract.Leave a comment:

So first you are saying that having these two on your team will not help... then you are saying of course it will... then in the same post you are saying it will not help....
you are making my brain hurt man, make up your gd mind!Leave a comment:

of course he would help the team, mainly due to the fact that we can plug dombroski in somewhere else and provide much needed depth on the OL.
you cannot deny the fact that in mcneils absence, the chargers blocked rivers' blindside pretty damn good.
am i saying that mcneil doesn't deserve his contract or that we don't need him? no, he does deserve his contract and i said that all off season.
but as far as the issues we are having? nope, its irrelevant and adding mcneil will not make it go away.Leave a comment:

how does sloppy ST's play and fumbling by rivers and the running backs have to do with not having Jackson?
also, the charger protected rivers' blindside quite well without mcneil. i actually knew we would sign mcneil since he reported, he deserves a contract and we need him.
but lets not be delusional here, mcneil wouldn't have protected his blindside much better than dombroski did and Jackson wouldn't have made this passing attack any better than it is currently.Leave a comment:

As for Jackson, he's a good player on the field but I'm sick of him and won't care when he's gone. He's the type of player you HATE when they're on the team and root against when they're gone. Similar to what Cromartie was in SD because of all his immaturity.Leave a comment:
