Do we know for sure that we're going to have a 2011 season? If we don't, and with the world ending December 21, 2012 and all, he could be hosed if he fails to land with a team this year.

I read an article that said owners stood to lose over a billion dollars if there is a lockout. I'm guessing they will get some kinda deal worked out. Nobody wins with a lockout. Not the owners, players, or fans.

As it is though, the game is slowly pricing itself out of existence. And, there's no way that the players assn will want to budge on rookie salaries so, who's gonna flinch? Keep in mind that, from the perspective of the owners, an off season can pay huge dividends down the road. After all, who's better positioned to take a financial hit for a year or so, the league and owners or the players?
