  • Vincent Jackson to wear Blue and Gold again

Well, it appears that VJ will be joining San Diego by October 31st - at least that is what the NFLPA is recommending to him (and Logan Mankins).

AJ Smith didn't get the 2nd and 5th round picks for him that he wanted. But, he will probably get a 3rd rounder compensitory pick.

While I'm sure VJ can't stand AJ, he likes his team and his coaches and will interesting to see if/how the Chargers use him. AJ won't release him and he's not eligible for the practice squad. So, I am guessing he will be playing.

Looks like Champ and crew will get another two shots at covering him again this year after all.

Makes sense really. Otherwise he would lose a season toward free agency, right?
Hold out would just be a waste of time otherwise.

He'll come back for the season. But no way he stays there.

You're right, there's is no way he will be back with the Chargers next year. But, he could have played 16 games for $3.2 million.....now he has to play 7 games for $300K.

Dude got some bad advice from someone.

With 3 WRs on IR....they could sure use him. I guess the trade deadline isn't until next Tuesday. Who knows.

Even money says they franchise tag him at seasons end so they can still get more then a compensatory pick for him. If that was their only goal they would have dealt him to Minn for the 2nd n conditional pick. AJ is gonna bend him over one more time for sure. Mark my words

That's what i think as well, but it wouldn't surprise me if they just let him walk. If i was AJ, i would of just took the Vikings offer. I doubt anyone gives them that much better of an offer then what the Vikes offered.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but i think i saw he would return the week after the Denver/SD game, may be wrong though.

Jackson will have to report to the Chargers during the week leading up to the Oct. 31 game against Tennessee because San Diego put him on the roster exemption status. Because Jackson will be roster exempt, he can’t play for three games. Jackson would not play against the Titans, at Houston at Nov. 7 and would miss the game against Denver on Nov. 22. The Chargers have a bye between the game against Houston and Denver. Jackson would then return to the Chargers roster for the final six games, beginning Nov. 28 at Indianapolis.

Vincent Jackson and Logan Mankins can join their teams beyond Tuesday and still reach their six accrued games.

this is the best thing he could do for himself as a player, it gives him way mnore leverage to force a trade or he will be able to walk.

i think he should be traded by the deadline, having him in the locker room will just be a distraction.

Like Gates and Floyd aren't enough? Come on now there should be a gentleman's rule about how many talented receivers you can have on one team.

but i thought floyd wasn't as good as Jackson? at least that is what i was told all off season.

if you ask me, i think its our QB that makes them look good, as well as the guy calling the plays.

just like all the other elite QB's in the league, you can pretty much plug in any decent receiver and that QB makes them look better than what they are.

Well, if he waits untill Oct 31 to report, and he has to sit out 3 games, and he needs 6 games to get his unrestricted status, i belive that means his 3rd and final game to sit out would be that Nov 22 Monday Night Game against Denver, if thats the case then he wouldnt see Champ untill the final game of the season, but thats still big for charger fans because that game could mean the Division or a wildcard spot, the way Denver is playing right now and with the injuries stacking up again, it will more then likely be Denver playing the part of spoiler....but who knows, lotta season left.

Yep.....you're right. Jeez, when I guy has a 3 game suspension handed down by the league and then another 3 game suspension laid down by the team....it makes it hard to follow

I honestly don't understand how players think that they can demand to enter into new contracts when their current ones aren't even up yet. Then again, without knowing what the next agreement between the NFL and the players will look like....
