Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

The thing that worries me about them is, as soon as Pioli became the man, he pretty much cleaned house, getting rid of all the bad wood. They then brought in Romeo Crennel and Charlie Weis and have a bunch of young talent. So, with a few more pieces, they could be set up for quite a while.
The only good thing about KC being good this year or winning the division is they won't get to pick Locker, Mallet, or Luck since they will pick in the 20's if they win the division.

Hey, in the AFCW, the winner may drop all the way to #4.
Ya, as soon as Pioli was hired, I became pretty concerned. As soon as Norv was hired in SD though, I rejoiced.
When Shanny was fired, I immediately thought of Pioli or someone like him for a GM (experienced, proven etc.), then that guy hiring Rex Ryan or someone like him (Defensive minded coordinator looking for his first HC job) and then the domination would ensue.
In a perfect world, where I own the Broncos, that's what would have happened...
I think the Chiefs really are set up to be a dominate force in the AFCW in the immediate future. It's their division to lose this year and it's not very likely to happen.
Chargers, whether their fans want to admit it or not, are going to continue to decline unless there are some major changes at the HC and GM positions BOTH. Raiders are still the same team they have been for the last 7 years (overall below average, sometimes overachieving, poorly managed/owned franchise) and will likely continue to be until The Mummy is finally put to rest. The Broncos are looking like they are a bunch of old or mediocre, wussies, that cant stay healthy and are headed up by a guy who, while I think has a very decent chance at becoming a good HC some day, is just WAY in over his head and is incapable of keeping it all together by himself at this point in time. I don't think the Broncos fans (myself included) are going to have the patience to wait for McDaniels to come into his own. I think we have the opposite problem that the Chargers have in terms of the HC/GM slots, where the Chargers have an ego maniacal GM who works on the premise of "my way or the highway" and the HC is softer than wet toilet paper.
McDaniels isn't going anywhere this year, and barring this season going winless the rest of the year, I think he's still here next year, because Bowlen is too cheap to fire him, have to pay him and his staff their salaries, and bring in an entire new staff in a year that may not even have any football.
OK, th is rant is going too long. I was kind of all over the place and I don't really have a point. Stupid Broncos, driving me to the bottle again

1) Today's NFL is designed for teams that can pass the ball. The Chiefs will not be there in the end due to their QB. Mark my words.
2) The Chargers should win the AFCW. If they don't....then Norv AND AJ will be gone.
3) Cheers bro! Bad football = good drinking (or, at least too much of it)

1: the nfl is going to revert back to it's running the ball, stout defense roots over the course of the next few years. Mark my words. People keep trying to become these finesse, passing teams but in the end, you win the vast majority of games by pounding the rock and stopping the run. Ask most HCs DCs and OCs and the consensus keys to victory in most scenarios are run the ball, stop the run. Add a competent QB that can go to the air and you have the basic make up of 90% of the playoff teams last year.
2: The Chargers are not going to win the west. AJ and Norv will still be employed in 2011 by the Chargers. If they some how miraculously win the division, there's no reason in my opinion why they should keep their jobs but they aren't going anywhere soon.
3: Sundays have gone from cheering on my favorite team to saying cheers with my favorite beverages and cussing at the TV. Only decision I have to make for this weekend is if I'm going with beer (we're winning), whiskey(we're losing) or both(the Raiders game). I picked up a couple growlers of locally brewed Hefeweizen, and the cabinet always has some kentucky whiskey or Crown Royal so I'm ready for whatever happens...
I live here in missouri, and after watching these chiefs, i'm sure we can still win the division. We play them two times, and we play the chargers two more times.
Anyone with me, or you think i'm just to optimistic?
I'm also a Cubs fan, so that's where I get my optimism from.
What thinK?
I think you are FUNNY,,,, one uhhh, yeah. No, no we won't win the division. We got to go 6-3 in the last 9 games, just for us to get to 8-8!!!!!!!! Do YOU think the Broncos, the way they run the ball, the way they play defense, they way they just FOLD like a deck of cards when the going gets tough, can win 6 more games???? Dont mean to be a Debbie Downer but I just do not!

Yep. At this stage we have zero room for error if we even want to compete for the division and keep it interesting. ANY additional losses and we're done, especially if they're division losses.
I could fathom us screwing up. I did fathom us screwing up this badly.
Even if I had, I'd have expected to share a seat with the Raiders. I did not expect to be looking up at the Chiefs of all people though.
