  • AFC West Predictions: Week 8

Week 8 already? Wow! Mid-term report cards are due after this weekend's games.....and it ain't gonna be pretty if a couple of teams don't win.

It's been so long since anyone has called every game right......I think I forgot how to give out CPs. But, if one of you clowns can pull it off this week, I read the owner's manual and figure it out.

    Happy Halloween

    Denver 9
    San Fran 17
I'd be curious to hear from some of the fans on this board that live across the Pond. What is the UK's take on this game? Two teams with a combined record of 3-11...brutal. Bet the NFL is kicking itself right about now.

Anyway, I think the Broncos are done. Josh tried to pin last year's collapase on Mike Nolan....but, last week the truth came out - McD has done a horrible job building depth into this team (especially on defense). Also, I like Kyle Orton, but he is medicore at best...and this team needs more than that - both athletically and from a leadership standpoint. IMO, the Broncos have packed it in and no longer believe in the boy-hoodie.

The Tebow Watch is back in full swing. In fact, thoughts of McD playing him if the game gets out of control might be the only thing that saves the ratings of this potential international disaster.

    Buffalo 13
    Kansas City 27
When was the last time the Chiefs were favored by 7 1/2 points? I'm still not a believer (we'll see how they play at the end of the season), but the Bills aren't going to be the ones to knock them down a notch.

    Oakland 20
    Seattle 23
Sorry Raider fans, but you don't get to play Denver every week.

    Tennessee 17
    San Diego 20
How in the world is a 2-5 team favored by 3 1/2 points to a 5-2 team? I don't care if it is a home game for the Chargers or not. That just seems stupid.

I guess Vegas is saying that this is the week that Norvy and crew start their 9 game winning streak. Either that or the Bolts are still one of the most over-rated teams and people keep dropping money on them.

This week, replacement kicker dude splits the uprights instead of hitting them to win the game.

I'm still a little sore from last week's butt-kicking. I think I'm going to pass on this one.

With Troy Smith starting? He only signed with the team a month and a half ago and the Niners admit that they don't have an idea of what his strengths are. So, they're scaling the offense way, way back. I don't see a way that the Broncos lose this one. In fact, I think that Orton's going to torch their D. And, I believe that Dawkins is back.

The field is going to be muddy. It's going to come down to who can run the ball....and who can stop the run. Did you happen to catch any of Denver's game last week and how they handled the run.....at home....in great conditions?

PS....I know you saw the game. I could hear you jumping up and down on your sofa up here in the Pacific Northwest

Dawkins is back as well as Goodman, but Cox is out.

          No score predictions, i'll say.

Be sure to get your KC/Buffalo pick in. I don't want people dogging you a CP cause you forgot a game.

I'll skip the scores this week, I'll be lucky enough to get them right, let alone the scores right.

The Raiders' home field is below sea level and not too far away from the Bay. Though it's not uncommon for it to be pretty wet, it's never hurt the passing game. If anything, it would seem to give an advantage to the WR. And I trust that, better than anyone else, the Brits know how to keep a field in good shape. Their teeth, not so much.

                      LMAO!!!!! thta is good stuff.

the only thing worse is when i came to realize that you could swap out Denver for SD and it would still be accurate.

I would do a vote, but this division is just trash, and based off the past 2-3 weeks, I'm not liking the odds of me getting them right.

I told myself I wouldn't do this, but it's not like it's going to matter if I'm wrong this year...

                            ~Denver:

Team rebounds after last week and wins. Not gunna put a score on it, but I know that the players (despite any feelings good or bad towards McDaniels) are going to want to redeem themselves as men and professionals and are going to come out pissed off and ready to whoop some ass...

At least that's what I'm hoping for

                            ~Seattle:

Raiders have big heads after last week, have a hard time winning two games in a row, and the seachickens are playing good ball. It wont be any kind of a blow out, but don't expect a 10th of the results of last week in this weeks game.

                            ~Bills:

OK, if I haven't lost you yet, I probably did on this one. I just think that the Ravens are like KC only better, and the Bills had a very close game with them last week. The Bills also played fairly convincing games against New England and Miami and are desperate for a win. I really could see KC dropping this game. Again, it might be wishful thinking but this is my gut feeling. I just see trap game written all over this one.

                            ~Titans:

Titans capitalize off of mistakes, Chargers make lots of them, Chargers lose the game. Also, if the Chargers weren't dealing with so many injuries on offense, and they were playing someone like San Fran, then I would have to side with the Chargers in this game, but since that is nowhere near the case, Chargers are going to have a hard time making a go of it. Rivers will be missing Floyd, Gates (will most likely be less than 100 percent and double teamed most of the game), Craig Davis (banged up and questionable), nanee (listed as doubtfull), Matthews is hobbled and the backup kicker is listed as questionable with a left ankle injury and kaeding is still out. Yeah, it's gunna take a meltdown by the Titans for the Chargers to come out on top despite all that.

I know it doesn't seem like it but I'm really not trying to be a homer here, it's just my opinion of how the games are going to play out

                              I'll keep if brief:

                              Denver 27San Fran 23
Frank Gore IS there offense this week....just not enough though. A balanced Broncos offense pulls out a win. Broncos get back on track with a W across the pond.

                              Buffalo 23
                              Kansas City 20
The Bills have hung around with some decent teams this year, and will keep it close with the Chiefs. A close game is won in the last seconds with a Bills fg.

                              Oakland 16
                              Seattle 23

Oakland doesnt get off to a hot start like last week and have a chance to tie in a close game but come up short.

                              Tennessee 31
                              San Diego 30

The Doltz offense puts up the points but their D can't stop Tennessee and CJ. Another one bites the dust
