if rivers and the CHARGERS go into Houston without all of their receivers and they light them up and get a win heading into the bye.

if they can do that i will be convinced that we will be able to compete for this division every single year no matter what, until rivers retires.

yes i am picking the chargers to win against the Texans, their backs are literally planted against the wall and this is an absolute must win for them.

i will be back here to eat crow if they lose and are done as far as the division goes. but it isn't going to happen, the chargers will not give up the division without a fight!

I'll certainly agree with that, without Jackson, Floyd, Naanee, and Gates.. Davis might be out too, not 100% sure.

If Rivers can win without all of those players, i'll start to think they can make a run.

I don't want you to win the division. Madden's record MUST stand alone.

This screws up one of my fantasy leagues. I have Rivers, Gates and Tolbert. Zach Miller's my backup and he's out. So my question is, who's your backup tight end and #1 receiving threat this Sunday.

          davis is on IR

here are the chargers receivers that will likely be available Sunday (including TE's)

Patrick Crayton, Seyi Ajirotutu, Richard Goodman, Gary Banks, Kelley Washington, Randy McMichael, Kris Wilson

crayton is the only decent receiver there that has been proven to make all the catches.

i will tell ya, without gates we are in big trouble. i am very interested to see how we do without all of our weapons.

          i have faith.

          for now.

crayton will be our #1 receiving threat lol

i also suggest adding sproles to your fantasy lineup if you have need there, i have a feeling his hands will be utilized in this game more than usual if they try and take away crayton.

especially if we have issues running the ball.

they are the worst pass defense in the NFL, that's the only thing giving me hope right now lol

oh and i posted the back up TE's on my previous post, we are screwed without 85 in that area unfortunately.

I wont lie... I'm a Texans fan this weekend. Misery loves company, and if you lose you're still miserable with us.

I picked up Crayton when Floyd went down. Then I released him for that Danny Woodhead. Not for skillset, but because I just like saying I beat you with my Woodhead.

Crayton's taken. I tried Sproles but I'm second to last on the waiver wire.

I will be truely suprised if the Chargers pull out a W Sunday. You keep talking about Rivers and the receivers, but what about Mathews? This is a chance for him to get rolling.

With all your injuries in the WR department I would expect Tolbert and Mathews to get a few more attempts. If you guys fall behind early it could spell trouble.

yeah, i am sure they will try to run the ball but i don't think they will shy away from throwing the ball if guys get open or they see match-ups they like.

the question is, will they be able to step up and make the catches? assuming they can get open in the first place.

believe me, i would love nothing more than to see mathews have a career day, i hope it happens.....heck i will be happy if we can consistently run the ball as a team.

if we can do that i think we can win the game but if they keep us in check in the running game and we fall behind like usual, it could get rough.

sproles should for sure be available to you, with sproles its defiantly a hit or miss chance that he will produce for you.

its just a gut feeling of mine that he will be used more than usual if gates cant play since he is probably the second most healthy sure handed receiver on the team right now and they are going against the leagues worst pass defense in a must win game.

Aint gonna happen....Not without 85. Atleast when he's on the field he can open up things for others. If he's out so are the Chargers chances.

I hope i'm wrong and you can throw this in my face if so but too many new guys trying to get on the same page as Rivers without 85 in the mix spells bad news especially on the Road.

My hunch is Rivers keeps them close but Houston knocks us to 3-6.
