Comparing Rivers to Manning?

Anyone who hates country music is a friend of mine. Oh did you like Chris Sligh? :-) I love his sense of humor and hope to be like him someday especailly in the music area but if you don't like that style to each his own as you said.

rivers didn't struggle, that was my point. i was just putting it into perspective how good he is when even manning struggled without his guys.

that by no means is implying that i think rivers is a better overall QB or even make him better this year. peytons team has a winning record and he is putting up impressive numbers as well, he is still the MVP of the league so far IMO.

i was just talking about the games today man, as if that defines a career anyways.....:duh

I thought the comparison was a little out of whack tbh. I never claimed that you guys thought Rivers was better. I even phrased the thread carefully so as not to insinuate that. However, I think Rivers played very well today from what I watched. He's a top 5 Qb certainly and a top 3 QB arguably.

Fair point though, Boltman-1 makes it seem like Rivers is better than Manning. All I'm trying to say is that you dog on us Broncos fans for the Tom Brady comparisons when he's doing more with less. At least you guys get positive yards most of the time when you run the ball up the middle or to the sides.

I'm not going to say who compared Rivers to Manning but didn't you dolt fans criticize Broncos fans for making out Cutler to be the next Elway and the greatest underrated player in the league? What about when Orton was 6-0 you probablly criticized us for comparing him to Tom Brady. Rivers wins a game for you and you compare him to Peyton Manning LOL. Oh irony of ironies.

well considering that cutler never made the playoffs never had a winning record and still to this date hasnt there wasnt alot to back him up with.....and calling orton tom brady after 6 games come on plz


rivers has made the playoffs every season he has started not just some player with 6 wins or someone that never made the playoffs


not to say or compare him to manning but....
but at this point can you say that rivers statistics are any worse than mannings at the same point and is he not in the same boat manning was in with regular season success and playoff failure?or for that matter isnt that the same boat elway was in about that time in his career?

Nobody with a head on their shoulders believes Rivers > Manning. But at the moment, the dude is playing just as good, if not better.
