While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.

Might as well have seeing how the year is playing out.
At least we didn't fire Mike Riley over it. In fact, he got to keep his job all the way through 2001 the next year. Go figure. Riley goes 8-8 then 1-15 and keeps his job, McDaniels goes 8-8 then 3-9 and gets fired with 4 games left on the season?
yes the 1-15 Chargers were pathetic under Leaf/Riley averaging 16.8 ppg and giving up 27.5 ppg on defense, however, equally pathetic are the 2010 Denver Broncos averaging 20.7 ppg and giving up a horrid 28.9 ppg on defense ranking dead last in the NFL. My God you cannot get any worse than the Broncos defense, that is pathetic!
Come on man, what is there any real difference between a 1-15 and a 3-13 record?
We need to follow the Raiders model and get bigger and more physical.
You need to follow the Chargers Model and get some people in that office who know how to run a football franchise with an eye for talent. This is why the Chargers are so stacked on talent each year and depth. Lets face it, the only team in this division with a real QB who is the face of their franchise is the Chargers with Philip rivers.
The Chargers have had the perfect antidote for the Broncos, philosphy-wise, in beating the Broncos over the last several seasons...power football.
Wrong again. The Chargers perfect antidote in beating the Broncos over the last 5 straight seasons (06~10), and I mean BEAT DOWNS, can be summed up in 2 words: Philip Rivers
Just like the Ravens, Jaguars, etc...we have always had problems with those types of teams, and the Chargers adopted that style when Marty came to town, and it has worked beautifully.
Its no coincidence that when Rivers took over as our starter its worked out beautifully for the Chargers. He basically shredded up the Broncos and moreover LT destroyed you too in San Diego that first year in the 2nd match up. Once Norv took over the rest is history concerning the Broncos as Norv has essentially taken Rivers with his offensive genius to a whole new level.
You can thank Norv and Rivers for playing a major roll in Bowlen's decision to let both Shanny and now McDaniels go. Face the facts, the Broncos have NOT been able to slow Rivers down except in 1 game and that's it. Broncos have no answer for the Chargers and Philip Rivers. They don't have the talent or roster to put a real dent in our domination of this division and it doesn't look pretty. They certainly have NOT had the coach or coaching staff with any answers for the Chargers.
The Broncos right now are at a very low point in their history, probably just as bad as the futile pre-merger years when the Broncos were absolutely HORRID for the first 17 years of their existence with NO playoff appearance at all. Sucking is nothing new for the Broncos, its a HUGE part of the Broncos dark days that nobody wants to talk about.
lol i told my friend the same thing today... what if we draft newton, and we create some sort of quadruple option OR QUINTUPLE OPTION!!!!
Gruden has been spending a lot of time studying the Option and the Spread since he left TB. It's one of the reasons he likes Tebow so much. Just sayin'
Some say it was because he wanted to find a job as a College level coach. I think it's because he wants to go for it at the pro level.

lol seriously though, imagine the possibilities of having cam newton and tim tebow on your team.
i could then see the possibility of running a hybrid style running/throwing spread offense with the wildcat mixed in there.
that way you could risk running the ball with your QB because you would have two very capable, very explosive QB's to run the offense with a QB by committee approach.
the only issue would be id finding a way to get both guys on the field at once. the wildcat would be perfect for that and you could also design "zone read" type plays where you have tebow in shotgun with cam newton next to him or split out wide. lol
tebow could either take off, give it to newton/moreno, or after he runs a little bit lateral it back to newton where he could either take off or throw it 60 yards down field lol
even as a rival fan, i would love to see something like that in the NFL, if it was to be successful.
what do you say donk fans? you already made the move for tebow, you might as well go all in and get newton.
I don't see anything wrong with picking up another QB of that ilk and running a QB by committee. Seems to me that if the NFL is just going to piss away talent that is that prolific, just because nobody has that style of offense at that level, there should be plenty available and at a discount. That is unless it becomes successful.
That was exactly who I was thinking about. I was like "If the NFL is just gunna toss these guys to the side because of how they play, someone should take advantage of it."
I know it was kind of tongue in cheek, but come on man, somewhere deep down in that cold dark Charger fan heart, you have to admit, that would be a spectacle the likes of which the NFL has never seen. It would wreak absolute HAVOC with Defensive Coordinators, and would cause such huge mismatches. I would be excited to see something like that attempted full bore here in Denver. You'd have to commit fully for it to work though, and you'd have to hire people with the balls to try it.
What better way to reinvent yourself after a huge downfall in the history of the team, and get out of the shadow of Elway and the late 90's. I'd rather try something like that and eventually fail, than forever try to get something back that is just never going to happen.

No you're not! We should defintley draft Newton! Imagine your DOLTfense trying to stop Tebow and Newton at the same time. It would be impossible..
