I know I've mentioned it in the past... something about you saying head-head is all that matters in rivalry smack. Super bowls are not allowed. When you have that kind of stance in the smack forum (which I know you do) it's easy to translate that to beating rival= Superbowl when that's all you'll accept. See how that works?

it would actually do the division a greater service (at least in the short term) to fire him because that would also mean AJ is likely fired as well which also means the chargers would be in full on rebuild mode.

no i am saying he needs a competent play caller and there are not too many play callers out there on norv's level.

say what you want about him as a head coach and i would probably agree with most of it. but the offense will take a step back if they fire him, unless they bring in another great play caller to take his place or someone to run his offense like cam cameron did..

I mentioned this in another thread. Chargers have earned the right to be hated rivals due to their recent consecutive division titles. You'd have to be more pathetic then pathetic if you won that many division titles and weren't hated.

Ask a Niner fan how they feel about their rivalry with the Seahawks. Same thing.

I've also mentioned that the exact same feelings were given to the Chiefs and Raiders in the early 2000's. But if those feelings have apparently subsided how quickly do you think it'll subside with you guys? Of course that's probably a rhetorical question till we know that your run has ended but as long as there isn't a Superbowl run made by you guys I believe it'll probably fade faster.

Listen here Chris. In terms of wins and losses Norv has underachieved. Unless of course you believe you have the talent of an 8 win non playoff team. Now yes, Norv's offense is explosive as hell but you look at his extensive coaching record... then take a look at fading results with the Chargers: 2 playoff wins - 1 playoff win - 0 playoff wins - miss playoffs.

I understand the Chargers perspective, keep systems intact and bad luck can't keep coming but from our perspective it looks like you're keeping a career underachiever. There's no big name coming in to take you to the promised land.

We do need to get better. And that's irrelevant to what the Chargers are doing: true. But rooting against rivals happens in sports. that's why this thread exists and no amount of posting will stop any of your rival fanbases from feeling that way.

Your right I can only name 3 that are right now better then him but your still out of the playoffs and still nothing to show for all those years you were in it. Since according to you thats not a stigma of Norvs bad play calling it must be his bad coaching and if thats the case why isnt Rivers enough of a leader to overcome it because most charger fans on here seem to think he is the best leader in football.

In all honesty being 4th in overall offense and 8th in overall defense while being 8-7 says to me you really just dont have a good enough leadership on that team whether thats in the coaching staff or on the field and its a problem.

If last night made any one thing clear, it conclusively and definitively proved the Philip Rivers is the Queen of the screen pass.
