  • Raiders "intrigued" by McDaniels

According to longtime San Francisco reporter Nancy Gay, the Raiders are "intrigued" with ex-Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels as a replacement for Tom Cable.
Gay also passes along "word from Alameda" that Al Davis won't pick up Cable's contract option for 2011, a scenario already reported as "unlikely" by Adam Schefter of ESPN. According to Gay, current Raiders OC Hue Jackson also intrigues Davis as a head coaching candidate. Cable must be informed by January 18 whether his option will be exercised. Right now, it's not looking good.

Figured this would end up in the smack section. I think McD could still be a good coach some day, but it won't be next year. This is interesting news.

If he does, watch him trade McFadden for someone useless.

Zach Miller, Bush, and Seymour for Orton and Daniel Graham.

It's Josh McDaniels, so it's possible.
If someone told me that Josh is related to Matt Millen, I would not be surprised.

One of the biggest strengths is the zone blocking and Raiders depth and talent at RB. You saw what happened in Denver, it was basically a 2-3 year project to convert over to McDaniels style which is nothing similar.

Not to mention the fact that Al Davis is known to be impatient. I don't quite see him being patient enough to even let the pieces fall into place. And you still have the question that the McD system will even be successful to begin with. hmmmm....

Look, everybody knows that Al won't have his final rest until he brings the Raiders back to the bottom of the division. What in saw in 2010, with continuity of the coaching staff and good draft picks, was just a fluke.

Raiders are ignant if they mess with the coaching staff, if it aint broke dont fix it. this is the first time in a while I think the Raiders will be a good team soon.

                          they just need more players.

A HC for the Raiders is OC anywhere else, they can have him and he will probably do well except when he comes back to play in Denver.

It seems they have had a top 10 pick every year for the past decade, they shouldn't need to many more players!
