  • Tebow and his fans are screwed

now that the broncos hired fox (which is a good hire IMO) i don't think tebow has much of a chance to develop into the QB that broncos fans think (and hope) he will be.

maybe he does bring in a good offensive mind to help tebow but he sure as hell hasn't had a lot of success with QB's

but most importantly, fox is a defensive minded coach, that tells you right there that they are focused more on the defense and not the offense and tebow.

in my opinion, if tebow ever had a chance to develop and become great, i think that chance likely came and went.

that said, congrats with the hire, definite upgrade from MCD. :thumb:

i think if you guys scrap the tebow experiment and focus more on defense and the running game, you will be much more better off.

I have to agree, did you see the Kudos Fox gave Orton. It ain't looking good for the Tebow generation.

Coach Fox says he LIKES Tebow. So this is a pointless thread.

lol because he likes him? what does that mean? that he actually does have the ability to develop a QB like tebow, because he "likes" him?

how successful has fox ever been developing QB's? not very.

nice try but you clearly "missed" the point, when you said it was pointless.

I don't totally agree with that statement The best defense is a good defense. Now the offense can help the defense out by not going 3 and out and keeping the oppositions offense off the field.

Against some of the heavy hitters in the league (Brady, Manning) the offense can certainly help their defense out by keeping them off the field and controlling the clock. Playing a game like this means you limit the number of times the opposing QB (e.g. Brady, Manning) get the ball and you also disrupt any rhythm they want to establish. But you’re team needs a good strong running game for this to be effective…not something we excelled in this year.

I will agree that Fox will try to bring a philosophy of defense, and strong ball control running game.

            Thx,
            Joe

Yup, that’s the long way to say it. Point is Fox knows he must control the clock and not have his Defense on the field the whole game, we shouldn't worry that he will ignore the Offense.

                We'll see baph, but.

Also, didn't Rivers sit for 2 years, then start his first full season in his 3rd year. Fox talked highly of Tebow, said they had dinner and Tebow tried to pay for the check.

A lot does depend on who we get as OC. It will take time for Tebow to develop, but if i was a betting man, i wouldn't bet against Tebow.

Im literally laughing at everybody who thinks that Tebow is all of a sudden going to lose a competition to Orton for the starting spot.

                  It's just not happening.

Orton is as good as gone.

To Baph's point: I think you may be right to some degree. I think Tebow needs a great OC because some of the things that you pointed out in your OP are very true.

That was my frist reaction to Fox getting hired ( "That really isn't going to help Tebow develop much")

Tebow will start though on Sunday's going forward or any day they play that ends in Y ( @ those thinking Orton is EVER going to start for this team again)

But Fox will teach Tebow the secret of winning a playoff game, which Fox has done many times. This will put Tebow ahead of Pee Rivers.

Sorry guy, But Fox only hires OCs that love to run, run , run.......This plays right into Tebows hands. We will no doubt sign another good receiving RB to pair with Moreno and Tebow. And I hate to break your heart, but despite all you Charger fans hopes and dreams Tebow can throw the ball just fine. The best part is we wont need him to do it as frequently as we would with another coaching staff. Fox and his running style offense play perfectly into Tebows strengths. Sorry but your big brother Denver is back in business.

Fox developed Delhomme enough that they went to the superbowl. Thats already more than anyone who coached Rivers could say......

Anyway you slice it, Fox and Delhomme have had MORE success than any Chargers player and/or coach, period.

But your more worried about Tebow and his fans......

Depends if you think Delholme reached his full potential in Carolina. IMO Fox got more out of Jake than most coaches would have...maybe he gets more out of Tebow.

We will win the division next year regardless...we all remember Panthers upset of "the most talented team in the NFL" the last time Fox coached against you guys.

He took Delhomme to a SB and 2 conference championships. QB is like, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY down the list of importance to this guy. He likes to run the ball and control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Having a strong running game will no doubt help Tebow.

And you're forgetting the most important thing...

We have a HOF QB that is going to aid in the "Tebow Experiment"

Tebow will be fine. Thanks for your concern though
