Personally, I think the Broncos are going to screw up this year's draft. Xanders has absolutely no backbone. He let McD walk all over him and he has basically no experience in the draft.....especially at the top of the draft board (not an easy place to be). Elway has even less experience....and, Fox has had zero. Do the math.
Enjoy the dim light in the basement. At least you aren't the Carolina Panthers. (close, but you are a tad better).
1. Fox is right now exactly where he was with the Panthers when he took over that job...he had then and has now a lot of rebuilding to do. His objectives will be the same. In the next few years, he has to accomplish the a, b, and c points you made. He had nothing when he took over the Panthers and has not much with the Broncos now. But all of us Broncos fans hope he can make the same improvements with the Broncos he made with the Panthers. Some Bolt fans think we got Fox as a last resort. But in reality, I agree with Elway's statement about Fox being the right guy with the best experience at rebuilding a losing franchise into a winner. Yes, Fox has had bad seasons, but I doubt it was all his fault. The Panthers' FO and ownership is pretty bad.
2. The Broncos' FO wont mess-up the draft. Everyone knows the Broncos need to address all the defensive problems, so the Broncs will hopefully draft mostly D the whole draft. Thats a no-brainer, they can't screw that up.
3. Xanders is not as spineless as you think. He frequently gave McD advice with the draft and other personnel issues, but it was McD's arrogance that ignored Xanders' advice. In the end, it was McD's decision regarding draft choices and other players. McD's contract gave him final word on all player decisions.Last edited by mct1967; 03-19-2011, 07:21 AM.

First off, we like yucking it up directly with Bronco fans toe to toe on their own message boards smack section.
The CMB smack section is a bit too rigid but I still go there now and then.
Personally I enjoying smacking around Bronco fans on their own board. Its lots of fun.
Every now and then you'll see a donkey fan get so upset at a Charger fans opinion he starts going nerd rage. Rather than staying level headed and logically debating and smacking he/she/it loses all self control and then starts in on the personal attacks.
This is the only downer of this board. Oh well, no board is perfect I guess.

2. Yes, everyone knows that Denver needs to address the defense, yet there is Elway flying around the country looking for a QB. So much for a no-brainer.
3. Xanders has zero experience actually drafting players. Giving "advice" is one thing....pulling the trigger is something completely different.
