  • Broncos QB dillema: Draft a real QB now or wait.

Word has it that uncertainty about Tebow leaves the Denver Broncos in a draft dilemma whether or not they should be looking at the QB position now for the long haul or focus on the defense.

I'd like to hear what Denver fans think. Since no QB on the Broncos roster is the long term answer and will never be world beaters (and most certainly no match the Chargers and Philip Rivers) where does this leave the #2 pick?

Should the Broncos go after a QB now or wait?

If they wait they can maybe (BIG maybe) shore up some holes on defense.

If they use their pick to go straight away after a real QB who might get them somewhere then they are screwed on defense.

Lets say the Broncos use their #2 pick to get their defense shored up.
    Now what?
Who do Bronco fans want as their starter in 2011? Orton? Tebow? Quinn?

The Denver Broncos have one of the biggest dilemmas in the NFL heading into the 2011 season. What should they do with Tim Tebow?Last year, Tebow was one of the most polarizing players to enter the draft in recent years.

either way its my opinion that the Broncos are screwed no matter what, no matter who starts at the QB position with either of the three stooges currently on the roster.

This is why people that the Denver Broncos will continue to be irrelevant for many many years to come. Way to many things to fix in Denver right now. You don't go 4-12 and then pound your chest trying to make everyone think that you have got things fixed and are ready to roll over the AFCW and make the playoffs the very next year. I know that Fox has a big mouth and has recently made some very outlandish claims that the Broncos will be world beaters and win a champion ship soon (not sure what he means by "championship"). Exactly how are the Broncos supposed to do that without a viable QB threat and while the Chargers are smack dab in John Foxes way?

Seriously guys, unless John Fox finds a QB that can match or exceed Philip Rivers the Broncos will NEVER win a championship of any kind let alone make the playoffs.

I seriously hope the Broncos DON'T use their #2 pick to draft a viable QB threat to the Chargers.

I'm just happy our QB doesn't look like yours when he throws.

Here's Rivers right here trying to throw a deep out.

Chargers dilemma: their fans are more focused on their division rivals than the Chargers themselves no wonder they can't sell enough tickets to avoid blackouts.

Why does it even matter to you who we use our #2 pick on?

You guys should be looking at who's going to replace Norv next season

Thats only if Rivers has the balls to attempt one......

When trailing extremely late in playoffs games his favorite target is the ground or the back of his linemans feet.

ha ha, I know what you mean. Broncos forgot how to win Championships after Elway retired. Your best coach tried without Elway for what like 10 years and won only a single Division Championship along with a 1-4 playoff record, this with 3 different QB's at the helm. Here comes Fox now making outlandish claims about how he's going to do WAY more for the Broncos than Shanny ever did. Who does Fox think he is making such stupid remarks? Doesn't he realize what condition the Broncos are in right now and what he brings to the table with a 2-14 losing record? What and how exactly is he going to do to win "Championships" for the Denver Broncos that Shanny could not accomplish without Elway on Center, let alone any other Denver HC in their entire history without Elway?

Like I said, Broncos on in some serious deep caca right now. I just hope they don't wise up and draft a QB now with their #2 pick because then I'll have to rethink my strategy a bit. So long as the Broncos don't draft a viable QB threat no team has anything to worry about when facing the Denver Broncos.

wow, that funny looking guy is 8-2 as a starter vs the Denver Broncos with unheard of off the charts record breaking stats of any QB in NFL history vs a divisional opponent in their first 10 games?

                    LMAO, that is funny!

Gotta look for a "real QB". Like the pro-ready Jimmy Clausen. Or someone like John Brantley. I once read he is a "real QB".

Is this the OG Boltman I used to school back in the day on a regular basis?

Anyway not much to argue here…as a team we are down and out at this moment. But what recent history has taught us is that an organization can turn around fairly quick with the right moves. We also know that football is a team sport. To get to the playoff’s better yet to win a championship you need more than just a hall of fame QB. You should know that by now right…I mean Rivers is up there were the best QB’s in the game today and how many championships do you guys have? Last year Rivers had arguably his best passing season…still only finished 9-7 and no playoffs. Don’t fret we experience the same with Elway…heck Elway was our entire team in the 80’s and early 90’s. We even got to the Super Bowl but we never won a championship until we were a complete team.

So the Broncos next move is simple…we need to get better across the board. As a realistic fan I don’t expect playoffs or championship but rather improvement and a strong plan going forward. That being said and to answer you question we (the Broncos) probably won’t and should not make a move on a QB this year. In my opinion there are more questions than answers with this year’s QB class. Thus we plug along with our current crop of QB’s…we let them battle it out and the best man starts. We then focus on fixing the real problems with our team last year…namely defense, & the running game.

In regards to the Broncos current QB's:

Orton: I believe with a good team around him (e.g. running game and decent to good defense) Orton can do wonderful things.

Tebow: Tebow is project QB however with his athletic ability he has tremendous upside if he does ever develop as a passing QB he can be very dangerous in this league. For now I believe he has a ways to go.

Quinn: Quinn is a serviceable backup QB.

                        Thx,
                        Joe
