Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

He also said it may be in the NFL's plans to have the Pro Bowl in L.A. instead of Hawaii to play off the Hollywood aspect.
It would make sense to have the pretend Pro Bowl in Hollywood.
I don't think it's do or die for SD, I think it's a forgone conclusion. The stadium is barely in SD anyway. The stadium is being built in LA, they have the land, the permits, even a sponsor, Farmers field. Maybe the Chargers can pull a Raiders and move back when SD does what they want.

I don't want the Chargers in LA. Living in OC, I would much rather go to SD to take in a game than go to LA. Hell would rather fly to SF than drive into LA.
Ravens GM 2016 - Ravens are looking to trade down 4-8 spots
It's not going to change much even if they do move to LA. It's not like it's too far to drive to see the games, and if nothing else, the SD fans that don't go to the games will get to see it on TV since they wont be blacked out anymore
very true and thats the attitude i take on it as well.
the city deserves to lose them because they don't back them
and by city, i don't mean the fans, i mean the local government
they chose the padres over the chargers , so be it
i just hope the chargers don't change their name and logo with the move, or i'll have to pick a new team (one that has more titles than the broncos lol)
i highly doubt they would do that unless spanos sold the team all together or they moved somewhere else besides LA.
i don't know what i would do if they changed the name entirely, it would suck. i don't think i could be a football fan anymore after that.
well i would still be a fan of the game, just not of any team. probably just play fantasy football and be more of a college football fan.

if the chargers win a super bowl, i can see a drastic change in the attitude of getting a stadium built in SD.
I shouldn't say Impossible, but Spanos wants a stadium, he may move em for 2-3 years to make SD get there act together.
i don't think they move back, even if they wanted to. do you really think they would let the chargers only sign a 2-3 year lease to play in a brand new stadium? lol
i am not sure on the situation with Oakland and how they were able to do it but i am willing to bet they were not under lease at that time.
the chargers currently have a year by year lease at the murph, they can basically leave any time they want (at the end of the year) but if they move into a brand new stadium, you get bet your bottom dollar there will be a long term lease and the SD chargers will be the LA Chargers for a long time.

I know nothing of the inside workings of the NFL obviously, I'm just speculating like everyone else (no sarcasm intended there) but I just have a suspicion the Owners want a 2 team expansion soon, working towards 8 total, to offset the network cost and other owner cost they don't like paying. Cities in Canada have been offering homes to teams off and on too. I'm not claiming it's a sure thing, but I do know they want to expand the league eventually.

then you would likely have a situation similar to the cardinals and rams. SD would more likely get an expansion team and the chargers would stay in LA.
but in my honest opinion, if SD loses the chargers, they are not getting another NFL team any time soon, probably never again.
Couldn't imagine get such a large tat only to have that team fold up and leave.
Wonder if there is someone with a giant Oilers tattoo out there?
If you were any good at smack you'd say something like "too bad nobody can read that tatoo when your laying out on the beach on your back after getting knocked out of the playoffs and/or missing the playoffs :thumb:

If anyone ever wants to be good at smack, you should never take tips from BOLTchild
