All Bronco fans have to admit, since 2006, when Philip Rivers took over as the starting QB of the Chargers, he has owned them.
If I am correct, he is 9-2 as a starting QB against the Broncos.
The Chargers have whipped the Broncos repeatedly, humiliated them more than once on national TV, and even had their players, including Rivers, mocking Jay Cutler in the process after the Broncos blew a three game lead in the season finale in San Diego in 2008.
For Bronco fans, it has been ugly.
But fate has a funny way of playing out. It just so happens that while the Broncos are 6pt underdogs to the Chargers on Sunday, they have an opportunity to do what they have not been able to do since 2005, and that is knock out the Chargers.
Truth be told, if the Broncos win Sunday, the Chargers are done for the season, maybe not mathematically, but realistically, they're toast.
Two years missing the playoffs will cause Norv Turner to loose his job, and AJ Smith will have to find a coach that can get them back on track.
For Bronco fans, that is pretty exciting....beat the Chargers, basically eliminating them from the playoffs, and in the process, costing Norv Turner his job.
Delicious!
The Tim Tebow legend so far is largley still mostly about hype, but if the Broncos win Sunday, he will be one of the rare Bronco QB's to beat all the AFC West teams on the road in one season.
For me, I think this is a huge task for the Broncos. The Chargers are built in a manner they have not been able to handle, and until they prove they can, I have my doubts, but as a fan, this is an exciting few days leading up to the game, because, just look at the possibilities
