  • Broncos Can Begin Payback On Sunday

All Bronco fans have to admit, since 2006, when Philip Rivers took over as the starting QB of the Chargers, he has owned them.

If I am correct, he is 9-2 as a starting QB against the Broncos.

The Chargers have whipped the Broncos repeatedly, humiliated them more than once on national TV, and even had their players, including Rivers, mocking Jay Cutler in the process after the Broncos blew a three game lead in the season finale in San Diego in 2008.

For Bronco fans, it has been ugly.

But fate has a funny way of playing out. It just so happens that while the Broncos are 6pt underdogs to the Chargers on Sunday, they have an opportunity to do what they have not been able to do since 2005, and that is knock out the Chargers.

Truth be told, if the Broncos win Sunday, the Chargers are done for the season, maybe not mathematically, but realistically, they're toast.

Two years missing the playoffs will cause Norv Turner to loose his job, and AJ Smith will have to find a coach that can get them back on track.

For Bronco fans, that is pretty exciting....beat the Chargers, basically eliminating them from the playoffs, and in the process, costing Norv Turner his job.

    Delicious!

The Tim Tebow legend so far is largley still mostly about hype, but if the Broncos win Sunday, he will be one of the rare Bronco QB's to beat all the AFC West teams on the road in one season.

For me, I think this is a huge task for the Broncos. The Chargers are built in a manner they have not been able to handle, and until they prove they can, I have my doubts, but as a fan, this is an exciting few days leading up to the game, because, just look at the possibilities

    Go Broncos!

most broncos fans in smack (not this thread) are saying the chargers have no chance to win, i like that.

for the record i think the broncos have a great shot at beating us considering we suck real bad but ya never know because rivers usually plays well against you guys.

      we will see.

This will be a different Bronco D, Rivers will be facing this time the Bronco D is coming in healthy and more comfortable with what they have learned with Dennis Allen's system and have been raising there play to a much higher level, I think Rivers will be running for his life on Sunday this time around. But it is going to be interesting for sure cause SD does and has had our number for quite some time.

i am sure rivers will be running for his life as well considering how decimated our OL is and how he has ran from his life to far inferior pass rushes to what Denver has.

i am also sure rivers will still find a way to score some points as well despite that, as long as he doesn't get injured.

will it be enough? it shouldn't take too much because the Denver offense is pretty inept but then again so is the chargers defense.

i really do believe anything can happen.

It'll probably come down to potential turnovers.
Rivers has turned the ball over a lot, but we struggle with interceptions and that.

Rivers has been our kryptonite, he always brings it vs us, this will be a tough game.

Far from a lock this week, got our hands full.

if im correct the broncos haven't had a good team or qb since the chargers recent dominance over denver.

If it will get Norv fired 100% sure...

I would become a bronco fan for a day.

Couldn't agree more Mindfield, I will have to get those shrieking neutler finalists on a post for Bronco Nation to vote on, because the mathematical elimination will soon follow.

Yeah this is a big game. I was just thinking it would be the ultimate payback considering 2009 we started 6-0 in first and began to choke it away just to have Chargers step up their game and crush our dreams that last game. The tables have turned as Chargers started 4-1 and we were in last, now they are choking and we're gearing up. Oh what sweet revenge if we can smash their dreams this year! A win here not only gets us closer to the playoffs but also forces others to stop treating us like the Rodney Dangerfield of the NFL. There are no guarantees yet I picked my Broncos for the survivor pick, Live and Die with 'em baby!

I don't feel great about this game, because it's the Chargers. That being said, we should win this game. Their O line is decimated, Rivers has been playing like crap, their Run D isn't that great, and imo their LBs don't pursue well enough for an offense like ours.

If we win the turnover battle, we're gunna kick their ass.

The tit for tat irony if they fire Norvell and go into rebuild mode would be oh so sweet

I don't really want to see Norv fired---what if they get lucky and hire a really good coach, how does that help us? I'd rather see a turn-around where we dominate them for the next few years, and Norv might give us a better chance to do that. Sarcastic---somewhat---humor.

This has got to be the best chance the Broncos have had at beating the Chargers, in quite a few years. Last I saw the Chargers were still favored though. But since this is smack, the Broncos are going to walk all over the Chargers, Phillips Rivers will consider retiring the beating will be so bad, and Norv Turner will be ran out of town.

We win. Usually worried, not this time around. It's always been on our D, and it has sucked for years. Not anymore and it's gonna show on sunday. We're playing nasty atm and I like our chances against a soft Charger o line.

Think differently? I'll cp bet you right now.
