  • hey BAP!!! heres an article about your stoutly expressed views on miller

and how he is one dimensional

The latest football news, analysis, and rankings from PFF. Featuring data-driven rankings and stats for NFL, fantasy football, and the NFL Draft.

Needless to say, Miller is sitting at the top of our 4-3 outside linebacker grades at the moment, and by some staggering margin. His +51.3 grade is some distance from his nearest challenger (Wimbley at +34.1) and more than double the next placed player (Daryl Smith of the Jaguars). The interesting thing, though, comes when you take away his pass-rushing and just look at the rest of his game. Focusing only on his play as a run defender and in coverage, he is still having an All-Pro caliber season. Baltimore’s Jarrett Johnson has been our top-graded 4-3 OLB against the run for the past two seasons, and has never been outside of the Top 3 in that regard since we’ve been grading. Miller is currently as far ahead of Johnson as Johnson is from the rest of the field in run defense. He has stepped in as a rookie and is performing better than the standard set at the position for the past three seasons.

care to defend you stance that miller is a one trick pony?

I'm not sure how Larry is doing, but I know for a fact that Jonas Mouton is playing great this year!

        This is delicious.

I can't wait for a reply, that is, if there ever is one.

Good read araph, if baph ever watched more then 2-3 games a year, he'd know Miller does more then just pass-rush, guy has been amazing in all aspects of the game.

And scary thought, he's only getting better as he learns the game more.

also hilarious that you were nowhere to be found earlier in the season, must have been on a business trip yourself, eh?

lol fairweather hypocrites crack me up.

also, i watched the dude all throughout his college days, he was very much a one trick pony.

i wasn't even saying it to belittle him, you are reaching for smack that just isn't there.

the dude is good and going to be defensive rookie of the year, i never said he wasn't good.

i actually compared him to merriman when he was playing at his best lol

i watched him throughout his college career dude, when Nebraska used to be in the big 12 i followed the whole conference.

i never said the guy wasn't good, i never even smacked him or said he wouldn't be good before the season either.

keep searching for smack lil fellers.

From what I could see, teams consistently ran to the other side away from Miller when he was at A&M.

actually he over pursued a lot in college and would run right past the guy quite frequently, he was also a liability in pass coverage in college.

that's common with speedy LB's like miller. (over pursuing i mean)

Don't forget he was benched in the first San Diego game, I believe it was for messing up in coverage.

Hoserman and I were talking about this early in the season or preseason. I said then I wanted sacks, tackles, and forced fumbles out of a top pick like Miller. In the past 4 games he's had 4.5 sacks and 24 tackles (2 FF's for the year) if he keeps that up he'll be a future Hall of Famer.

He actually has 3 FF's. He's also second behind Demarcus Ware in the TFL category.

That's weird, the other day it said 3. They must have taken one away from him.
