It's almost as if you people think wins don't count unless the defense holds the other team below 20 points.

Newton and Dalton haven't won a single game when the defense fails to hold the opponent to 20 or fewer points. They must suck, too. They can't win unless everything goes perfectly. When everything doesn't go perfectly, they lose.

Pity the league's future, Broncos fans, because our young quarterbacks can only win when everything goes perfect.
Were are not looking for perfect we are looking for the morons who think Tebow is the greatest thing since jesus himself to realize he is nooooooooooooo way near a starting NFL QB! Lol some wanted to commit suicide when he didnt get voted to the probowl

The defense during this period was not playing anywhere near as well as it had during the winning streak and the offense had no running game whatsoever. When the Broncos (or any team) get inside the 20, the defense gets compacted into a smaller area making it much more difficult to throw if there is no threat of a run. If you have a good running attack like the Broncos have had during the streak, play action passes in the Red Zone are very difficult to defend. Nobody was respecting the Broncos running attack when Orton was playing and that made it much more difficult to score. What would have made sense to me was to use Tebow in those situations - and let Orton get you from your own 20 to the opponents' Red Zone. That would have been a great way to get Tebow some experience while taking advantage of the opportunity to watch and learn from Orton.
Ignoring the fact that Orton averaged more then 1 turnover in every game that led to more then 7 points by the D more during that period, and was equal to the difference in points the D allowed per game is ignoring the Elephant in the room.

Ortons turnovers like the team lately has been a major reason why we have been bad. The Broncos D allows more points in the 2nd quarter then any other team, and its been worse under Tebow then Orton.

McD used Tebow and Orton correctly as a package. Most of Ortons turnovers are in our redzone or the opponents. Tebow is best in those areas so combining the strengths would have maximized the outcome. However, like handing the ball off except for evey 1/4 of the time it impedes momentum for the QB and the team and thus actually negatively impact the ability to make plays.
