Posting past events is pointless, it's 2012. In 2012 MMA is bigger than boxing end of story.

Do you know how to read? The gif I posted wasn't posted it just to be posted.

I didn't read a single thing you've posted in this thread, when I say you bring up past events, it because you did often bring up Tyson whom didn't fight in 2011. Neither did Evander.

You should have read because the fight (Boxing) in 2011 had 500 million viewers..that's why........

And the most watched UFC fights? 6.5 million and 8.8 million...

how are you going to make an argument based on NOTHING?!

          This: http://wnu-ukraine.com/news/sports/?id=454

"The match drew a lot of international attention with around 500 mln (million) viewers from 150 countries around the world watching the live telecast."

          This: http://www.lunatx.com/xd/public/news/view.html?id=172

"45,000 spectators in the Arena and over 500 million TV-viewers worldwide watched the fight."

          This: http://www.boxingscene.com/david-hay...t-again--41086

"The biggest heavyweight fight since *Lennox Lewis-Mike Tyson in 2002 had a television audience of 500million people in 150 countries."

The most watched MMA/UFC fight EVER had 8.8 million viewers.

          500 Million>8.8 Million

Obviously Boxing is not dead and MMA/UFC is not taking over. If it's that hard for you to grasp then maybe you shouldn't even try to argue.

I'm not sure which is declining faster: your argument or boxing's relevance.

Convince me that a sport (UFC) that at it's most could generate 8.8 million viewers in 1 match is gaining leverage on a sport (Boxing) that generated 500 million viewers in one match.

              I'm waiting for the explanation.

I understand why MMA is so popular today. It's very accessible because of how visually appealing it is. You don't have to have an understanding of what each fighter is/is not doing for it to be gratifying. Simple and violent. I have utmost respect for MMA fighters and what they do. To each his own, as they say. That being said, I will never be a big MMA fan. I enjoy watching it from time to time, but I will never take it too seriously. I have my reasons, just as others have their reasons to dislike boxing.

Though the corruption in boxing has been significant in eroding at the integrity of the sport, it does not mean that great fights are not possible. A great fight is not about the popularity of the fighters. Those who can not appreciate fights like Berto/Ortiz, Kirkland/Angulo, or even the brilliance of Floyd Mayweather should be watching MMA and not boxing. Two different sports and often two different audiences. To each his own.

Sitting Down you're so clueless it's rather hilarious.

Everyone knows that MMA is more popular than boxing, and it doesn't take a lot of brain power to figure that out.

Boxing is about as boring as you can get. Try watching true combat not just punching.

Wrestling, Kickboxing, Karate, Jiu Jitsu, thai boxing, grappling, and Boxing VS. Just Boxing.

                  MMA >>>>>>>>> Boxing any day.

Put manny in the ring with a MMA fighter and watch him tap in the 1st minute. I bet most middle weight MMA fighters could sub any heavy weight boxer.

Sorry dude I'll go with the young upcoming sport MMA with all fighting styles allowed rather than the OLD, CORRUPT, Yawner that is boxing.

Another way to measure mma vs box popularity is check how many boxing gyms vs mma gyms are in your area. In mine 13 mma vs 2 boxing.

How is MMA more popular when the main even in Boxing generated 500 million viewers and the most watched UFC fight ever generated 8.8 million viewers.

                    PLEASE EXPLAIN.

LMAO! You are quoting from Worldwide News Ukraine. Very reliable. AND Boxingscene.com. No bias huh? All 3 have the exact same quotes meaning they didn't even bother to write their own original piece. It's called over inflating numbers to generate interest. I would believe if I saw actual official numbers not some 3rd world country rag and a boxing website.

Again. MMA fighters would destroy any boxer with ease.

You just keep watching your OLD boring boxing matches. While the rest of us will watch MMA. Oh another thing... Klitschko VS Haye in 2011? Um who the hell are they?

Who cares if an MMA fighter would beat them up? Do you even know what this argument is about? 5

And if you were even paying attention to Boxing you would have seen many of articles on how many viewers watched it.

How is MMA exciting? the good fighters go what 5-15 minutes every 9 months? How the hell is that exciting?

And like I said. Boxing is dead in America but NOT outside of America=5% of the world's population.

MMA is a joke. It can't even beat out Golf. How will it ever get popular in a world that doesn't care for it and in a country that already has 5 sports ahead of it?

MMA is a joke. So much so they relied on WWE leftovers to bring some REAL attention to the sport. My friends didn't even know UFC existed until Lesnar and he was the only they cared about and now they couldn't give a poop that he's gone.

I hate to break it to ya... We're in America. Outside of America football isn't exactly huge either, but we all watch it. LOL.
