  • Another Failed Attempt at Replacing Elway

    Buuby Brister
    Brian Griese
    Chris Miller
    Gus Freotte
    Steve Beuerlein
    Jake Plummer
    Jay Cutler
    Kyle Orton
    Tim Tebow

Peyton Manning is just the latest in a failed attempt by the Broncos at finding the future "franchise QB".

How did Denver manage to squander 4......yes FOUR, 1st round draft picks in 2009 and 2010 and not end up with their future QB.

Do your best to stay on topic.

You guys missed out on the playoffs the past two years with your "franchise" QB. Our latest "fail" managed to win the division last season. Think about that.

How have you squandered every draft pick in your franchise's existence and still haven't been able to get a Super Bowl winning QB?

      Oh wait you did.

      Drew Brees.

No doubt about that! I know how hard it was for San Diego to replace Fouts. It took waaaaay too long....and Leaf was a major set-back, much like Tebow was for Denver.

You just can't burn a 1st round pick on a QB and then not have anything to show for it 3 years later.

Brister never played another regular season down for us after elway retired
Brian Griese Shanny loved him and he was ok until every figured out he couldn't throw the ball more than 15 yards.
Chris Miller-back up never was anything but
              Gus Freotte same and Miller
Steve Beuerlein again same as miller
Jake Plummer jake was the man and we did him dirty IMHO
Jay Cutler could have should have but failed when we fired shanny. we were truely a defense away for several championships again IMHO but I won't forget it Mr Bowlen but I have forgiven
              Kyle Orton=face palm
Tim Tebow loved his characture work ethic and everthing except his inabaility to read a defense. GL in the futre I hope he makes it to the HOF

The truth is only Griese Plummer Cutler Orton and Tebow belong on this list but hey have your fun. I could make one about the 19 QB you guys had between Foutts and River with brees being your Plummer but why bother the chargers are once again irelevant

It's easy to a replace a QB that never won anything.

I'm butt hurt he isn't the best QB in the NFL. But, that's a different conversation.

I was hoping to talk about Manning and the Bronco's QB situation.

Why not. You win some you lose some. I think your confusing first round pick with high first round pick.

You see, when you win season after season...you know like only having 1-2 losing seasons in like a 15-20 year span, you dont normaly get high first round draft picks.

So I truly dont understand the point of this thread. What I get out of it is what you said to me in your quote of me.....Its hard to replace a legend.

                            Thats all...

Not much to discuss, it's Peyton Manning, if he's anywhere close to his normal self, it's a good move.

And they'll probably draft someone to be the heir apparent either this year or next.
