      Miller > Ingram in fines

so just because melvin has made the qb move a few times...doesnt mean he gonna be great
your point? did i say he was going to be great? congrats on jumping to conclusions and crying yourself to sleep over a link i posted.

and no, the LT passer rating analogy in no way the same thing, if i have to point out to you why you need serious help. but do please continue with your illogical rants.

                    • 2 things. Von Miller is clearly better and Melvin Ingram is a BOSS. I love Melvin Ingram and can't believe he fell to the chargers. People can talk all they want but Ingram can play any position in the front 7 for the most part. He can play as a down interior linemen on 3rd down, DE, and in a 3-4 he can play just about any LB position. Ingram will be fine. He is not as explosive as Miller is but he is a playmaker and if we had a shot to get him over Wolfe, I take Ingram every time.

I don't call players busts in the first few years, it sometimes takes players longer to develop than others that doesn't mean they won't be good.

Also this is smack so the Chargers suck!

What's weird to me about the Ayers situation is he wasn't a pass rusher coming into the league. Just because he is/was a d end doesn't mean that he has to get 10-15 sacks a year to not be a bust. I don't know why people thought he would turn into or was a 10 sack a year guy. Ayers has actually performed quite well at run stopping which was where he was by far most effective in college. /end rant

Back on topic: Ingram may end up living up to the hype some gave him though I don't think he has yet. Also, it is apparent that Von is on a whole different level currently, from not only Ingram but most of the OLBs in the NFL. To say otherwise as Nord is/does is Trollville, USA at this point it's easy to ignore his thoughts.

                        • I firmly believe Ayers has been playing out of position most of his career on passing downs. It kind of goes hand in hand with Dumervil. I'm not saying I'm right but it's an observation I've made. Robert Ayers plays LDE typically because he is one of our better DE's against the run and typically plays the strong side. I've noticed that Robert Ayers seems to have much greater success rushing the passer at RDE or at RDT then he does on the left side. Look at his college tape because it holds true for him in college as well. I have also noticed that Elvis Dumervil although successful from the right side seems to do much better against RT's on teams. Maybe it has something to do with LT's typically being the more technically sound, pass block specialist that are lighter on there feet and maybe Ayers just has an easier time powering through them then Elvis Dumervil does trying to power or finesse through them. Where as Dumervil has greater success getting under the pads and past RT's because they are typically stout, road grader types that can get caught leaning forward or slow out of the snap.

It's just something I've taken note of. Same with Malik Jackson in terms of getting a ton of pressure playing DT on 3rd down. From what I have seen out of Malik Jackson through preseason and his limited playing time, the coaches need to give him more playing time. He has an absolute knack for penetrating the LOS and dare I say has shown flashes of being possibly the best at penetrating at the point of attack on our team against the run and pass in the interior. He obviously has a lot to learn still but I can see him getting more reps on 3rd.

If you ask me, I'd have DOOM at LDE, Vickerson at LDT, Malik at RDT, Ayers at RDE with Von and DJ at LB in some 4-2-5 sets which could see a lot of diversity with having Von and DJ with the versatility to rush the passer or work in coverage allowing them to roam free and blitz all sorts of gaps or send 6 and you also have the flexibility to drop athletic guys like Ayers and DOOM into coverage who played a little in our 3-4. Although not great at it, we do have that option to trick up some QB's once in a blue moon. I also believe Malik is athletic enough to do so as well. I'd keep DJ primarily on the left side to leave him to cover the TE while having Von come off of Ayers shoulder to blind side the QB but it would allow us to shuffle them and the rest of the front 6 personnel into all sorts of looks and blitz packages.

He actually has to do something to be fined, unless being a waste of field space now qualifies.
