Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Behind a great offensive line??? This is laugh out loud funny.Only Marshall Yanda is outstanding and the Broncos Oline is far superior to the Ravens line.
If Joe had a great oline and receivers like Matty Ice he would be putting up huge numbers.

Because he takes more risks going deep than your average QB and makes things happen at the most critical of moments? Joe and his receivers practice these kinds of plays everyday...to the average viewer they may seem risky or ill-advised, but these guys practice these types of throws everyday it's a no-brainer. Look at the accuracy of those deep balls, trust me...they aren't flukes. The one to Jacoby Jones dropped right in the bucket, even though he adjusted slightly to the ball...but then again, that's what a good receiver has to do sometimes. That's not bailing anybody out.
the offensive line has only just recently become "great" (as you say) this last season. Before that they were the main cause of Joe Flaccco's so-called inconsistentcy. He wasn't getting any protection up-front, hence no time to survey the field and get the ball off. So a lot of times he was sacked, run outta bounds, or running for his life in the backfield...when you're dealing with that kind of an offensive line you're gonna see inconsistency and bad plays along the way to maturity. Now when he first came into the league in 2008, I admit some of it was Joe (no pocket awareness, nervous feet, staring down receivers, etc), but as the seasons passed it became less of Joe and more of the offensive line. So yeah, in some cases the D had to bail us out of a sticky situation...but not because of Joe, moreso because of the O line and some of our older receivers (Mason, Heap, Evans, etc.) not being able to get separation which kinda' forced Joe to hold the ball longer than he should have in some cases. If you look at seasonsal stats...yes, Joe Flacco may appear mediocre at best. But you gotta look further than stats, look at "Wins" cause that's what really matters, right! Joe didn't have the crazy seasonal stats like Rodgers, Brees, Manning, Brady, etc...but he wasn't sitting home watching the Superbowl like them either. He was in it to win it! At the end of the day "wins" is what really matters...cause that's why we play the game, right? To win!
5yrs of mediocrity? Obviously you haven't been keeping up with Joe or watching our games. You've just picked up tidbits about him from here and there. Here is your mediocrity:
1. since coming into the league in 2008 he has taken us the playoffs all 5 yrs (no other rookie QB has ever done this)
2. in each instance we appeared in the playoffs we at least advanced to the 2nd round (not one and done)
3. of the 5 appearances we made in the playoffs, 3 were AFC championships
4. he has never missed a start in his 5 yr tenure with us
5. he is the winningest QB in the league since his arrival (63)
6. he is the only QB with Joe Montana to have 11 TDs and 0 INTs during the post-season
7. he has won us back-to-back divisional titles (2011, 2012)
8. he arguably has the strongest arm in the league
9. voted the MVP of Superbowl XXLVII
10. has 1 Superbowl ring (just like Manning, without the stats; Manning's been in the league since '98, 10yr longer than Joe)
11. up until last year we had 15 straight home-game victories (that's not luck)
Footnote: PM with all his crazy stats earned his first Superbowl ring 7 yrs after entering the league, however Joe on the other hand has accomplished it in 5 with your so-called mediocrity and inconsistency. Has played less games than PM since coming into the league, yet has more wins. Down goes Frazier!!!
Joe Flacco is an unsung hero! But that's fine, as long as the Ravens Nation knows what he's all about, and as long as he keeps on winning.
Like they say "just win, baby!"
Don't be ridiculous, your oline has always produced in great ways in terms of the run game. The ravens have been known to be talented in the trenches, and this year is no different. Their pass protection woes, brace your self, have quite a bit to do with the QB running the offense.
Btw before I continue to break down some poor logic and bias, anyone calling Peyton average immediately doesn't know what a good QB is. It doesn't take a football guru to see that Peyton improves any oline he gets behind with how fast he delivers the ball.
I'm not going to spend my time telling you how far Peyton out classes Flacco, you're an obvious fan boy too blind to see the facts, apparent by the 'average QB' comment.
Back on topic, I agree your WR corps had a lot to do with how fast Flacco could get rid of the ball in the past. Yet no one can say he didn't have talent on the offensive line, you would be in denial to say otherwise. A great example of this is how terrible our offensive line looked with Tebow handling the pigskin. Tebow also won a playoff game, against a #1 defense. He didn't do it by himself, outside of gator fans it'd be mission impossible finding someone to tell you he carried our team to that win.
That moves me on to say Flacco did not carry your team to playoff wins or to the playoffs, there were TDs that frankly should have been interceptions, and your defense has been legendary. When Ed Reed was down your team suffered, when Ray Lewis was out your team suffered. This last post season was different though. He was clutch.
It gave me pause and actually think this guy is better than what I perceived him to be. It'd be foolish to say he didn't deserve to get paid after producing against that great 49er defense. I just don't think he deserved that big of a contract, because some of that money is owed to Boldin. Without him there is no Superbowl victory. Also through out the playoffs your offensive line gave Flacco all day to throw the ball.
What I'm saying is, it was your defense with Ed Reed, making interceptions look stupid easy, that won you back to back division titles. Ray Rice and the running game (behind a great offensive line) got you to the AFC championships. It was not a prolific passing game and a gunslinging Joe Flacco like you seem to believed it to be.
I'm going to do it anyway, Manning makes receivers better, Flacco needs great receivers to be a reliable passing QB. Manning can get the ball out behind bad pass protection and take less sacks, Flacco can hold on to the ball too long and make his oline look like chumps while eating turf. In terms of winning, Manning doens't need a run game to do it, Flacco does.

Yawn. 64 wins in 5 years . No reggie waynes on our recieving core.
...the Broncos were the better team tonight and PM set some more records. The 2nd half we stunk the joint up. Good job at redeeming yourselves.
Manning has officially survived his neck surgery, great things are on the way for the Broncos.
My prayers and thoughts go out to Jones and especially Oher. I'd rather they had been healthy the entire game and have us win that way, here's to hoping it's just a mild sprain.
