  • So after 1 week .... lets look at the rankings

I know you can't derive much after one week of football regarding stats. But it's fun to look at:

Baltimore, a team known for it's elite defense and a defense that is allegedly improved from a season ago - is dead last in DEFENSE (rofl) And Suggs was angry because he was getting no respect as a world champion superbowl winner before the game ...... LOL

    Defensive Rankings (actual)
KC is ranked #1 ~they played JAX - big deal
OAK is ranked #7 ~ they played IND - not bad Oak not bad
Denver is ranked #24th ~ played the world champs
San Diego is 28th ~ played a tough Texas team.

San Diego had a tough opponent, but it's hard to come away from that game with a positive feeling if you're a Charger. As good as they looked in the 1st half, it doesn't really matter when you finish a game like that.

    And for Offense(actual)
Broncos ranked #1 on offense - not surprised after that epic historic performance.
Oakland ranked #13 - not bad Oak not bad at all - all things considered
Kansas City #22 - turned some heads on Sunday seems like they will no longer beat themselves.
San Diego #27 - wow I thought they'd rank higher than that but that second half was horrid

So yeah - I put this in smack so we can all have some fun - Denver has it's strengths and weaknesses after 1 week like everyone else - looking past the stats My feelings on the AFCW ranks are as follows: this isn't how I think they will finish this season, this is how they should be ranked after 1 week. Oakland lost but they had a tough opponent in Ind on the road. KC took care of business but they played a weak opponent. SD played a tough opponent but they had a 2 TD lead by halftime and 3 TD lead by 3rd Q I think - that should be enough to win a game - can't lose games like that. Denver played the world Champs - don't need to say much more on that.

    AFC rankings (opinion)
1 Denver looks to be dominant and will be a tough game for whoever they play this year
2 Oakland earned 2nd mention here because after 1 week, they appear to be the 2nd toughest afcw team.
3 Kansas City did what they were supposed to do. They beat a terrible team in JAX
4 San Diego could have been 2nd ranked after 2Q's of their game but they threw in the towel and couldn't finish just like last season. As good as they appeared in the 1st half, they looked just as bad if not worse in the 2nd half. Terrible way to start a season.

The beatings will continue until morale improves....

Out of all the AFC West teams not based in Denver Colorado who played this week only Oakland truely looked improved IMO. Yes the Chiefs won but we honestly can't judge anything based off that...The Jaguars are literally THE WORST team in NFL history....

A win over them is actually less meaningful to this current season than a win in the first preseason game of 10 years previous.

what's funny is the chiefs went down in Yeh ESPN power rankings after that win LOL.

But they have a good test this week against the cowboys.

      Adopted Broncos:
      (2011-2013) Eric Decker
      (2014-2018) Bradley Roby
      (2019-Current) Drew Lock
      Adopted posters:
      Everyone

you can't really judge anything based off week 1's performances. You just never know what can transpire down the road.
Sorry Denver Haters...I've been on an extended business trip....:middlefinger:

All I can say is what I said last thursday and after the signing is thanks again SD for Phillips and nothing has seemed to change with Rivers and the Chargers

not making any excuses but you cant judge teams statistically after just one game lol

i usually like to wait at least through 4 games before making any determinations, when it comes to statistics at least.

fair enough but you do realize he had 3 games last year with 2.5 sacks, right? that's only two sacks the rest of the 13 games he played in.

not saying that will happen this year but he has been very streaky as of late, i wouldn't start jumping for joy just yet, even though it was a good signing for you either way since you got him for peanuts.

As I said before when you responded the same way its more then Freeney would give us with his falling 1/2 sack

more importantly its not a big enough sample size and only against one team in one situation. i kind of doubt that manning is going to throw for 7 TD's every game this year lol

uhh can we wait until more than one game is played to make that determination? sure it was more in week one, good thing there is another 15 games to play, huh?

Yes but with the sample size of games available we know Rivers is the worst 4th Quarter QB who cant even get a first down and will sometimes throw away a lead literally.

Heres Baphy and No Rings logic:" lets not talk about the Chargers until they win or Broncos until they lose then we can tell you all how we told you so"!
You guys both run your mouths and then show up playing the its only one game card! What if this is the only week the Broncos win and the Chargers lose ? then im going to enjoy it while I can.

Precisely how many posts have they had since Thursday saying how much better their D-line would be based on what they saw in Game 1. They cant handle the smack and have no defense so thats all they can say now is it was just one game

did i say we cant talk about the chargers? or did i say we cant make a determination on which pass rusher is having the better year after only one game?

                              get on my level rookie!
